Cruise for joining???

Some friends just returned from DW and are strongly considering purchasing DVC. They said that if they bought they would receive a free Disney cruise. Is this something new?

Yes, it's a new incentive as of Feb 1.


Add on 100 points: get a 3 night cruise for 4 people (160 for new members)
Add on 125 points: get a 4 night cruise for 4 people (200 for new members)
Add on 200 points: get a 7 night cruise for 4 people (270 for new members)
It's an ocean view room without a verandah.

I spoke with my DC guide today about adding on a contract at the GCV. The cruise length depended on how many points you bought and the cruise dates were Sept/Oct 2009 or Sept/Oct 2010. You have the choice of that or developer points or a per point discount (if you are buying 100 points or more).

It really is a nice incentive to purchase. We've been talking about adding on more points, but now really isn't the best time for us to do it. We really would love the cruise though and have resigned ourself to the fact that when we do add on,it will be around the 200 point number. Maybe they'll continue the incentive in the future.

What about if you only have 2 people? Is there any kind of exchange or enhancement if you only have 2 people. Like could you do a land/sea cruise instead or get a gift card in addition or something?

We got the postcard about this offer the day after FedExing our check for a resale purchase. Doh!
