Feb. 8, 1988 – Disney’s television special “Disney’s Magic in the Magic Kingdom” aired on NBC-TV.
Feb. 8, 1993 - The TV show “Blossom”, starring Mayim Bialik, Joey Lawrence, and Ted Wass, aired the episode of “Mice and Men” which took place at Disneyland.
Feb. 8, 2001 - The California Adventure Park at Disneyland opened along with 3 lands in addition to Paradise Pier, Hollywood Pictures Backlot, The Golden State, and the Grand California Hotel.
Feb. 8, 2002 – WDW’s Downtown Pleasure Island began its Mardi Gras celebration.
Feb. 8, 2002 – The Lizzie McGuire episode “First Kiss” debuted on the Disney Channel.
Feb. 8, 2003 – “The Jungle Book Carnival” at Disneyland Paris began. (Ran through Mar.9, 2003)
Feb. 8, 2005 – Roy Disney and Stanley Gold make their withhold vote for all Directors at the year’s shareholders meeting (to be held Feb. 11 in Minneapolis).
Feb. 8, 2005 – Disney’s new DVD and video series “Growing Up with Winnie the Pooh” featuring the films “The Great Day of Discovery,” and “Friends Forever.”
Feb. 8, 2006 – Gordon Goodwin won a Grammy for Best Instrumental Arrangement for “The Incredits” a track from “The Incredibles Soundtrack.” Goodwin, a composer/arranger & consummate jzz musician, was a three-time Emmy Award winner and the leader of Big Phat Band (a Los Angeles based jazz group.)
