Feb. 2, 1996 - Gerry Laybourne, of Nickelodeon, was hired as the new president of Disney’s ABC Cable Networks.
Feb. 2, 1996 – The Disney/Hollywood Pictures film “White Squall was released.
Feb. 2, 2001 – The Disney Channel aired the Lizzie McGuire episode “Pool Party’ (also referred to as “Pilot”)
Feb. 2, 2001- The Disney Channel Original Movie “Motocrossed” aired for the first time.
Feb. 2, 2004 – Walt Disney Records continued the legacy of the 1970s album Free To Be You and Me with the release of the new CD A World of Happiness.
Feb. 2, 2004 – Super Bowl hero Tom Brady of the New England Patriots returned to Disney World with family and friends to celebrate his team’s big win. (This is the quarterback’s 2nd post-Super Bowl celebration at Disney World in 3 yrs.
Feb. 2, 2006 – Disney announced that the Disneyland and Disney World Pirates of the Caribbean attractions would be undergoing a 3-4 month makeover to work in character and plot elements from the movie series that took its inspiration from the original attraction.
Feb. 2, 2006 – The Walt Disney Co. donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross to aid in relief efforts following the recent storms and tornados that hit Central Florida.
Feb. 2, 2008 – Disney Channel’s new animated comedy series “Phineas and Ferb” had its debut.
Feb. 2, 2008 – The “Inkas Wasi” South American music group gave its last performance in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at WDW.
