$9.95 for 24 hours at Deluxe as well which I thought was simply ridiculous!!!!! Seriously? Does it really cost WDW that much for me to have internet access when I am paying over $250 per night for a room? Swan/Dophin....I don't remember it costing this much if any at all.

Paying for internet access at a deluxe hotel is not unusual. In the past 6 months, I have paid $9.95/24hrs at two different hotel chains in Georgia and Kentucky. Is it fair? I don't think so - but - if you need to be on the 'net - you pay.

If you are a DVC member it is free, otherwise it's $9.95 as stated above.

Thanks for the information -- It's too bad, we've stayed in hotels that have free high speed. I guess they got to make that money where they can?

Actually, very few resorts/deluxe hotels offer free Internet. Disney has more money to make if you're not sitting in your room on the Internet. They want you out and about in the parks spending money in restaurants and shops. Las Vegas hotels don't offer it free either, they want you in the casino!

So, I guess the lower priced hotels that offer free internet just want to get you as customer, period. Most places we have stayed in the last 5 years (non Disney) have had free internet.

Disney is cheap as far as charging for internet goes. It was much higher than that the last time I stayed in NYC, and a friend recently paid $19/night in San Francisco.

I process expense reports for many sales people, and $9.95 for Internet service is fairly standard around the U.S. It is rare when I receive an expense report that does not have a minimum $9.95 or more charge per night for Internet use.

If you think about it, hotel phone usage is no different. You know you're going to be charged a ridiculous amount just to pick up the handset, but if you gotta use the phone & have no cell phone available, you'll pay.
