Good Morning! :mickey:Is there anyone going to Disney in early February that would be willing to take Flat Stanley out on a days adventure for my second grader?! We are like you, DISNEY NUTS!!! She does every report, performance, or any project on Something Disney. So it's kind of a tradition and this would be absolutely the most awsome Flat Stanley trip ever!! Taking pics with Mickey or Walt or whoever or as many characters or landmarks you want. Just a little documenting the trips events would be perfect, maybe some small momentos of his trip like a Disney napkin or stickers or pins or something. Flat Stanley is getting to be a pretty big deal and I really hope someone would be willing to help and be VERY serious about it to ensure that this does make it back to her school. :mickey:

If you really, want to help us out, please let me know asap because I have to return the envelope to school by 2 pm tommorrow. Last minute I know but she just got the papers yesterday and I did not get a chance to get on here last night.

Thank you so much for reading and We always go to Disney in December, if you ever need your Flat Stanley to go to Disney, Just ask. We are happy to take him on the adventure of a lifetime!!!!

Kristi

I love Flat Stanley, my daughter did it a few years ago, fun! I am going down on Feb. the 19th, if that would help you. If you want, PM me, that would be fun. I can take him to the beach and a few other places in Tampa, too. Oh, and I have two more kids, so I might ask you to return the favor!

KristiKristi, I have read through your post a couple of times and am still a bit perplexed. Who (what?) is Flat Stanley? Is it a doll or action figure or something like that? I am so out of touch with what's trendy with the little ones these days (my "little one" is already 16 years old).

I won't be at WDW in February, so can't help you out there, but I was curious about the Flat Stanley thing. :mickey:

Flat Stanley is essentially, a paper doll. His story is that he was a little boy who got ran over and now spends his days traveling from classroom to classroom and going on adventures with children. The family must record his adventures and then they share them in class, or something to that effect. The doll itself doesn't really move a whole lot, more specifically around the school.

We've had them come around, and Mickey's taken photos with him. One student gave him a sunburn from Florida's beaches.

Basically he is just what CaptainJessicaSparrow said. He is a flattened paper doll. He's kind of like the roming garden gnome, he just travels all around the globe taking pics and documenting where he's been and the younger grades really enjoy studying and talking about all of his adventures when he gets back to school. Normally whoever you send him to will simply return him, but sometimes he goes to a new person and the adventure continues until he is eventually sent back to the school.

My older daughter did it a couple of years ago and Flat Stanley came back with candy, stickers, books, pictures, travel brochures and all kinds of other little neat things the class loved. They thought it was the neatest thing ever!!!

Thanks for such quick replies too. I will be pm'ing you today!

Ah, I wish I would have thought of this for DS last year. Shari, that's really cool of you to volunteer to help Kristi's daughter like that! Have FUN with this one!

Beth, google Flat Stanley & you'll get a plethora of information! He's actually been around for quite awhile! :D

Hey guys, it is really nice and super wonderful for Shari to offer to take him with her. My daughter is beside herself! She said it is going to be so hard to keep this from her teacher and her class. She is already busting at the seams to tell ANYBODY!
Thank you Shari

DD12 did Flat Stanley in Kindergarten. He traveled the states. Pretty cool. So nice of you to take him to Disney for an adventure. Hope you 'both' have a great time.:mickey:

We sent flat Stanley to my sister in law two years ago for my son. It just so happened that she was going to Disney with us during the time she had Stanley.

We had so much fun getting pictures with stanley around the world showcase. We purchased Stanley a passport and had each country sign it for him. We also took stanley on test track and bought the picture of us on the ride. (We tucked him in between us and the seatbelt so he wouldn't fly out).

We had a waitress at Wispering Canyon Cafe who gave Stanley a kiss and fed him french fries. It really was a hoot!!

We felt a little silly at first, but then it was like a game.

Let me know if you need any ideas!!

Too bad we aren't going until March. But Shari volunteered so you've got a great person to escort Stanley around WDW. Last year, our Stanley went to visit Kristen and Ben (dolphinmickey9170) in Baltimore. He had a great time! This year, we get to take BJ, the classroom chicken (he's a stuffed animal) to WDW. DD is so excited! She already has plans to buy BJ his own Mickey ears and a pin for his vest.

Tyler's Flat Stanley did not do anything as fun as Disney World when he did it years ago but he did go hang out with his Godmother at a Animal Hospital and visited with the sick animals.

The kids thought it was great fun to see the pictures that came back with him!

Would Disneyland work? We'll be there on the 14th and 15th and would do it for you.

If it adds anything, Flat Stanley would be going on a cruise on the Mexican Riviera beforehand.
