Jan. 25, 2000 – Disney named Robert Iger President & Chief Operations Officer, making him the company’s number two executive under Chairman and CEO Michael Eisner.
Jan. 25, 2002 – The Orlando Sentinel reported that WDW plans to demolish about ¼ of its troubled Disney Institute and build 192 new time-share units there.
Jan. 25, 2002 – The Disney/Touchstone Picture film “The Count of Monte Cristo” was released.
Jan. 25, 2003 – Tokyo Disneyland kicked off the 15-month-long celebration of its 20th Anniversary.
Jan. 25, 2003 – The “Cinderellabration” show debuted at Tokyo Disneyland.
Jan. 25, 2004 – The historic Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, Ca. screened Disney’s Sleeping Beauty in its original 70MM format.
Jan. 25, 2004 – Disney’s “Dreams on Parade” began running at Tokyo Disneyland as part of the parks 20th anniversary celebration.
Jan. 25, 2005 – The Disney/Pixar animated film “The Incredibles” was nominated for 4 Academy Awards.
Jan. 25, 2007 – Jim and Lisa Fouch and their children, Brad and Hannah from Michigan made history as the first WDW guests to win a night’s stay inside Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom.
Jan. 25, 2008 – The Disney Channel Original Movie “The Minute Men” aired for the first time.
