Right now they are just saying Late 2009. No specific reopening has been listed.
My two DD's are really upset that it will be down when we are there in Sept. I am still hoping maybe we will be lucky and it will go fast and be back open when we go.:mickey:

It goes down the day before I get there. Of course. But oh well. It should come back better than ever. Let's hope.

Whew! Looks like we'll get in a few last rides when we head down in March.

I'm excited about this. I love Space Mountain, but there's never been a major refurb on this ride. I'm kind of tired of the whole thing. It makes me very kurious what's being refurbbed.

I read that SM was getting the same referb that the DL did. It will have inversions and be more like RnRC.

I can assure you that SM at DL in California does not have inversions unless they have added them since last summer. Maybe at Paris DL? The one in CA has great integrated sound and the track is very smooth and that is what I would expect they will change at WDW. I would also guess they might change the ride cars to side by side seating like DL since I can't see them adding sound to the existing cars and this would increase the throughput of the ride. I'm not sure they could do that with the existing track layout. Who knows, they might just replace some of the track to smooth it out and do a general facelift on the entire attraction. I really enjoyed DL's, but still like the jerky WDW version also. I think the integrated sound was the best thing about DLs version that is lacking from WDWs.
