A friend of ours visits WDW nearly every year and she was worried about the Gluten free issues that she might have encountered.

She was assured that there is are gluten free altenatives. At the TS restaurants she talks to the chefand they discuss with her the choices of meals. More often than not, she has told me, the chef will make her something that is not even on the menu. She has been quite a few times to the World and has never had any issues at all.

Before her first trip she did contact food services see what they could offer her.

I hope this helps.

This has been discussed over on our Guests with Special Needs (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/forumdisplay.php?f=64) forum. Recently a thread focused on just this subject: "Gluten Free Dining (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=139001)."

Have a magical trip! :mickey:

My husband has Celiac Sprue. We just got back for WDW last week and I can honestly say he had no problems with food.

When you make advanced dinning reservations just note your allergy and about a month before hand contact the Disney dinning specialist. You can find their e-mail on the Disney site.

At counter service restaurants just ask for the manager and they will make your meal. My husbands counter service food looked better than our because it was made fresh.

Have fun with your trip.

Ditto the above post....Disney is VERY helpful if you have food "issues" and I speak from experience. Just ask for the chef/mgr and they will handle your order perfectly!

Not DW related, but if you're new to being gluten-free, you might like this blog: www.glutenfreegirl.com. She's a bit airy fairy, but she has amazing recipes and a good outlook at the GF lifestyel.
