Jan. 19, 1971 – “Recreacres, Inc.” (which was formed to help buy up property for the WDW Resort) changed its name to Buena Vista Land Company, Inc. (It would eventually be known as WDW Hospitality and Recreation Corp.)
Jan. 19, 1975 – Disney’s part-1 of its 2-part TV movie “The Sky’s the Limit” aired. (Part-2 aired Jan. 26, 1975)
Jan. 19, 1997 - Adriana Caselotti, the voice of “Snow White” from its 1st feature length cartoon died in Los Angeles, Ca. at the age of 80 from cancer.
Jan. 19, 2001 – Lizzie McGuire (a half-hour series mixing live-action and animation) debuted on the Disney Channel with the episode “Picture Day” (Disney’s on-air promos identifies this episode as the premiere of a new series, even though a sneak preview of the episode “Rumors” has been aired the week before.)
Jan. 19, 2001 - Disneyland’s California Adventure Park opened for preview. (official opening Feb. 8, 2001)
Jan. 19, 2001 – “Disney’s Party Express,” a celebration of Walt Disney’s centennial began and would run through May 31, 2001 at Tokyo Disneyland.
Jan. 19, 2002 – Disney’s Saturday Morning Movies continues at the Disney owned El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, Ca. with the showing of “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.”
Jan. 19, 2002 – The Disney animated series “Teamo Supremo” began airing on “One Saturday Morning” on ABC-TV.
Jan. 19, 2003 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired the remake of the 1972 movie “Sounder.”
Jan. 19, 2007 – The Disney Channel aired the Hannah Montana episode “School Bully” for the first time.
