Rest in Peace Brother Huet- We all know you didn't do it.
Here lies Fred. A great big rock fell on his head.
Those are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head.
I do like the Master Gracey one.

I took pictures of them all (and have them on my Photobucket site)

Here are all the epitaphs:

Here Rests Wathel R. Bender -- He Rode To Glory On A Fender -- Peaceful Rest

In Memory Of Our Patriarch -- Dear Departed Grandpa Marc

Requiescat -- Francis Xavier -- Got Time Off For Good Behavior -- R.I.P.

Here lies a man named Martin -- The lights went out for this old Spartan

Dear departed Brother Dave -- He chased a bear into a cave

Master Gracey -- Laid to rest -- No mourning please -- At his request -- Farewell

Good friend Gordon -- Now you've crossed the river Jordan

In Memorium -- Uncle Myles --
(Couldn't quite make this one out on the photo)

Rest In Peace -- Cousin Huet -- We all know you didn't do it

Here lies -- Good Old Fred -- A great big rock fell on his head -- R.I.P.

R.I.P. -- Mister Sewell -- The victim of a dirty duel -- Peaceful Rest

At Faithful Rest Lies -- Brother Claude -- Planted here beneath this sod

Dear Sweet Leota -- Beloved of All -- In regions beyond now, -- But having a ball

My favorite one is also Brother Dave.

The one you couldn't quite make out reads:

RIP
IN MEMORIUM
UNCLE MYALL
HERE YOU'LL REST
FOR QUITE A WHILE

Thousands of guests are amused every day by the headstones. Most don't know that the epitaphs are actually tributes to Disney animators and imagineers who created the attraction.

Grandpa Marc is Marc Davis, an animator and one of Walt's Nine Old Men.

Brother Claude is Claude Coats, who designed many of the interior sets.

Master Gracey is Yale Gracey, Imagineer and artist. He was known as a special effects "Master".

The headstones and epitaphs were created by X. Atencio, a Disney Legend and Imagineer who wrote the lyrics to "Grim Grinning Ghosts". He even created an epitaph for himself - the one about Francis Xavier.

Of course I love the Master Gracey epitaph...it's classic..."No mourning please, at his request."

But I have a soft spot for this one...

In Memory Of Our Patriarch -- Dear Departed Grandpa Marc

I was at the Haunted Mansion right after Marc Davis passed away and there were random flowers scattered on that grave and that grave alone. Many folks wondered why...but I knew. It was very poignant. :mickey:

Not so much an epitaph, but I love the statue of Mr. Toad in the pet cemetary. Rest in Peace, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

My favorites are Dave and the snake in the animal cemetary. For some reason I have pictures of the hearst (huge John Wayne fan) but none of the tombstones. I'll have to take some on this next trip. Thanks to the posters for the great info and a listing of all of them!
