Can you get Disney Dollars at the Resorts?

I want to give some Disney Dollars as a gift to my friends daughter who is turning 6 during our Disney trip this week. Can I get them at the resort when I check in so I can give it to her right away?

Although I'm not 100% sure, I think you'd have to buy a Disney gift card, and give that to her...I don't think they sell Disney $$'s at the resorts.

The darn Disney gift card is everywhere though! (not quite as fun!)

I have purchased Disney Dollars at the resort's concierge desk before, but it was back in 2005, so I don't know if they still have them.
