I spoke with my dad last night and he is absolutely NO help....all he said was that he was at MK and there is no water in Splash MTN and it is closed. When I was at MK in Feb 08, Splash Mtn was closed for reburb...is it still closed? Does anyone know the scoop?
I will be there on Friday....and it is one of my must rides!

SM is listed on the WDW site for refurbishment from Jan 6 through Jan 18. Looks like you may miss it this trip.

They seem to shut this ride down every January and February for rehab. We have missed it our last two trips down there because of the rehab.

Have they ever been know to finish early? Like if it says through Jan 18, do you think they may have it back up on the 18th? That could work for me with my hopper pass!

Yep, this is an annual refurb . . . it's down for a few weeks early each year to repair, paint, enhance, etcetera. Although they have been known to finish refurbs early for various attractions, I don't know if I'd count on this one or not . . .

Jan is usually pretty chilly even in Florida so its a great time to refurb the ride before the summer hits

.....must have just happened....we too just rode it on Saturday the 3rd....it had plenty of water, believe me....we go in the summer and I stay bone dry on it and Saturday I got drenched.....really I did....the water cannons are pointed away, which helped, but when we hit the bottom, we must have hit it perfectly for a wave of ice cold water in the face and chest.....

Yes, it seems I stay bone dry in June and get drenched when it's sweatshirt weather.

Refurbs are a fact of a 365 day enterprise like the WDW theme parks...
