2009 DDP Question

Going in 3 weeks to WDW for first time in 2 years. I know DDP has changed in that apps and tips are no longer included. Has anyone tried to substitute the dessert for an app?? Or 2 desserts for an app?? Just curious if they allow and leeway.

No, you cannot switch a dessert for an appetizer--they are very strict about this. I'm told they won't even do it for medical conditions.
