We are : Marilyn and DH Thomas, two Sr. citizens with young hearts.
Day 2
We were off to Epcot this morning, but slept in some as our ADR for Akershaus wasn't until 11:20. We did ride Spaceship Earth, and it's O.K., but I like the old one better. Station Cool wasn't open yet. In fact, nothing was really open except Soarin, and there was a 60 min wait. Our lunch at Akershaus was O.K. - it was more DH's thing than mine. The food I chose was good enough, and dessert was amazing, but the cold buffet didn't have much that I liked. We did get a professional picture tho', and when we thought about it, we don't have a single picture of just the two of us since the kids were little. DH looked good with the princess. After lunch, we shopped around the showcase. I wanted to look at the dolls, and had planned to buy a couple of dresses to take home, but the prices were a little "up there", so I'm back online with Vees Victorian for clothes for my naked babies.
My DH is always interested in art. He's built a koi pond, has G gague trains running around the yard, does pottery, and now I find him standing watching the glass blower in Germany. Over the next few days, he spent LOTS of time there. We don't have enough money for a new hobby. We bought a kiln for the garage, and if he comes home with an aceteline torch, I'm moving to higher ground. I think he's given up on the idea.
We decided to get in line for CP, and were the third and fourth persons in the standby. We had a great conversation with the lady and her elderly mom in front of us. She's a CM that works at Liberty Inn, and hasn't missed a days work in 20 years. The time flew by, and I parked my little scooter and was escorted to my seat - 7th row, center by a very nice older gentleman CM. Virginia Mattson did a wonderful job with the narration. I love hearing this. It's the same music every year, and the same scripture, and nobody, (that I've heard of) has ANY problem with that.
We stayed for illumination - the best I've ever seen, ending with "Let There Be Peace On Earth".
We followed the crowd back to the monorail, got off at the TTC, and walked home. We were hungry and went over to Evergreens for a pizza and onion rings. By the time we got back to our room, we could hear the boom boom's and watched another amazing fireworks.
That was a long day for us (well me). My body starts shutting down around 4:00, and when I've done too much, I can't walk at all. We had some hot Peppermint tea, and watched T.V. until we fell asleep.:alarm:
