Dec. 29, 1791 – Andrew Johnson, the 17th U.S. President, was born in Raleigh, N.C. He could be visited along with all the U.S. Chief Executives at the “Hall of Presidents” attractions in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Dec. 29, 1865 – Hollywood character actor Otis Harlin, who supplied the voice of Happy in Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” was born in Zanesville, Oh.
Dec. 29, 1941 – Time magazine featured a review of Disney’s recently released animated feature “Dumbo.” The report included the review and a paragraph focusing on animator Bill Tytla’s work.
Dec. 29, 1954 – The Disneyland TV series aired the short film “Beaver Valley/Cameras in Africa” and the footage from the upcoming adventure “The African Lion.”

Best known for animating Grumpy in “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and Chernabog in the “Night on Bald Mountain” sequence from “Fantasia,” Tytla also worked for Terrytoons and Paramount Pictures. His last work on a feature film with full personality animation was “The Incredible Mr. Limpet” (1964), a comedy mixing live-action and animation.
