Dec. 25, 1924 – Rod Serling was born Edwin Rodman in Syracuse, N.Y. His Twilight Zone TV series would be the inspiration for Disney’s Tower of Terror attraction.
Dec. 25, 1939 – Lux Radio Theater with the cooperation of Walt Disney Productions presented an adaptation of “Pinocchio” with film actor John Garfield.
Dec. 25, 1950 – Walt Disney’s 1st TV special, “One Hour in Wonderland” aired on NBC at 4:00pm. Sponsored by the Coca-Cola Company, the show was watched by about 20 million people. Guests included Edgar Bergen & Charlie McCarthy, Walt’s daughters Diane and Sharon, Kathyrn Beaumont (to voice Alice in Wonderland) and Bobby Driscoll (the voice of Peter Pan.)
