I am curious on how much the Grand Floridian cost to build
Also, when they were looking for a place to build disney world, what other locations besides Orlando were on their short list?

I have no idea on the cost of the GF -- usually Disney does not release that sort of information.

As far as the location -- supposedly East St. Louis IL was on the short list -- but that plan fell through.

Richard Foglesong, in his book Married to the Mouse, says that 13 sites were considered, with most of them on the east coast of the United States. St. Louis, Niagara Falls (Canada and U.S.), Ocala, FL, and the Baltimore-Washington area were some of the sites.
