50's or Mama Melrose's?

Hi!

Just looking for opinions for our trip in Feb. I made an ADR for lunch at Mama Melrose, but considering changing it to 50's. What do you prefer - me, DH, and picky DD9? We did 50's years ago, and did like it.

The 50s is lots of fun but I much prefer the food at Mamma Melroses - especially the Calamari

Tough one. My answer is it depends. The atmosphere at 50's is fun and light. At Mama's it is dark and relaxing. Food - as you know, 50's has home cooking. Mama's has italian dishes that are good - we had the wood grilled shrimp pasta and it was delicious. Go with what your family tends to enjoy most - especially your picky one!

We ate at Mama's in October and had a wonderful meal. I've heard others say they've had bad experiences in the past, but those who've gone there recently seem to have posted good things to say. Maybe they've changed?

Unfortunatley it is really hard to get over bad food and bad service....but things can change especially if they have gotten a new chef and crew. I do not know if I can convince the DW, but maybe we should try it again??

We enjoy both places, but love the atmosphere at 50's Prime Time a little better!

I've been to both and no bad experiences at either. However, you have to experience 50's at least one time - you can get decent Italian food and similar atmosphere like Mama's anywhere outside of WDW, but you can't get an experience like 50's anywhere else!

You're not going to get gourmet food at either place. Mama's is canned Italian and 50s, well, just isn't about the food, it's about entertainment. The food isn't bad, just average. The experience is worth every penny. I'd give 50s a try.

We prefer Mama's over 50's. We were there this past week and had great food and service. We always go lunch there on Thanksgiving trips. :mickey:
