Actually I just re-read the OP and noticed he said, " ... reported thus far ... "

I would assume SSR hasn't been reported yet.

Hi all....

Does anyone know if there is a list of dues/year from over the years?

Was wondering how fast our dues are climbing relative to past years.

Thanks,

Dr. Duck

I bought BCV in 2002 and my dues back then were $48.85 per month. I just got my notice that in 2009 they will be $62.47 per month.

An increase in $14 over the 7 years I've had it...I only wish my increase in real estate taxes here at home were that small!

Here we go again...

I am still trying to figure out my dues. I just paid SSR for 2009 and paid $922.
Last year I paid $727. for the same points.

It looks like the year before we over paid on estimated taxes... That is a huge difference though. Is this normal?

I put away $800 in anticipation of our dues but the $922 caught me off guard. Do the dues normally fluctuate this much?

Dues should be expected to rise at a rate of 3-4% per year, which has been comparable to the rack rate increase at Disney’s on-property hotels.

Thanks for posting the rates. This gave me a heads up for our dues.

I have a question, since this is my first year in which I have to pay the annual dues, when can I expect to get my annual statement? Does the statement always come in so close to the due date?

I just received my dues statement yesterday, so yours should come any day now.

Yes, the statement always comes pretty close to the due date. The actual rate isn't officially set until the annual meeting in December, and then they take a few weeks to print and mail the statements. Since we joined in 2000, I don't remember seeing the per point amount change from what is quoted in the meeting notice. I would suggest you use that amount to calculate what your bill will be - that will give you about 2 months to get ready for the Jan 15 due date.

I am still trying to figure out my dues. I just paid SSR for 2009 and paid $922.
Last year I paid $727. for the same points. This confuses me a little bit ... we own 160 points at SSR (half of your ownership) and our bill this year was $703.

If you look at Mike's per-point cost of $4.3353, it looks to me like you should actually be paying roughly $1,387.30. Why are your dues only $922?

Ours is actually a little bit more than the stated rate ... 160 x $4.3353 = $693.65. So we were overcharged by about $10? And it looks like you were undercharged by over $400??

Again, I'm confused ....

Ian it's all about tax and estimates. If they underestimate you get to pay more the next year, if they over estimate you get to pay less the next year.

There was some talk at the AGM about changing this and not giving refunds in future but it was very confusing (going into general funds instead so dues costs would reduce that way or somesuch).

I still don't really understand ... we both own at the same resort, so if they over/underestimated for one shouldn't they have over/underestimated for both of us?

The way I see it, both our bills should be off in the same direction by a similar percentage, right?

dlpmikki

You are right Ian - it is resort by resort so if you own the same place it should be the same difference the same way.

Ian

So let me see if I understand this ...

We bought in May of 2007, so when we paid our dues in January of 2008 was that for a pro-rated 2007 or for the upcoming 2008 year? In other words, are you paying for the actual costs of the past year or the projected costs of the upcoming year?

dlpmikki

Projected costs for upcoming year.

Ian

Okay, so then I'm really confused ...

I checked and in 2008 we paid like $575 or so ... our bill in 2009 (as previously mentioned) was $703. Same amount of points both years.

So if I go by the chart DVCMike posted, it looks like we should have paid $673.60 in 2008 and $694.40 in 2009.

I guess we made out on the deal, since it looks like we underpaid by $100 in '08 and only overpaid by $10 this year! :D

I'm still very confused ........

Here we go again...

Are you trying to confuse the confused?
So I guess I was undercharged last year.... that would account for the increase. But do they do this often? I try to budget my money around my daughter's dance and baseball. This just hit hard right after the holidays.

I got a message from DVC today saying that they undercharged me last year so they made up for it this year. Going forward it should be right. We will see... I still owe $122 for Bay Lake in August.
