Reading the broken rides stories, some made me laugh. But my question is - what would be your personal WORST to get stuck on? Think real nightmare moment, triggering your own phobias ;-) My daugher said getting stuck in "It's a Small World" would be enough for her to need life long therapy! And mine is to be stuck in Stitch's Great Escape - those restraints wig me out and make me claustrophobic at the best of times - but I can't imagine being STUCK there with no clear end in sight! *shudder*

Tower of terror. I actually don't think I'm ever doing this one again. I did it once, waited 4 years, then did it again in August. I hate the buildup, I hate that feeling. I can't even tell when I'm going up, and when I'm going down. My whole body feels weak when its over! I hate it!

Been there done that - IASM. Over a half hour in one spot. That SONG over and over and over and overand over....:bang:Thirty years ago and it's still haunts me.
I have gone back on it a few years ago and thank goodness I made it through. Still have nightmares though.

Ok, maybe this isn't exactly horror inducing, but I'd probably get stuck on Aladins Flying Carpets at the spot where the camel spits in your ear as you pass.

Okay you guys...don't laugh but the ride that I would be terrified on if it broke down would be the Dinosaur ride at AK:scared:. I know, weird right? I have been so scared of dinosaurs. Why, I have no idea. It's not like they are around anymore but they scare me. Maybe it's because I saw Jurassic Park when I was little and that scared me. I have reoccurring nightmares sometimes of being in a forest with dinosaurs.lol.

One time at Universal's IOA our boat got stuck in the Jurassic park ride inside where the raptors are and I literally started crying because it scared me so much :sob:. My imagination started running wild.

You all should see my pic on the first time I went on the Dinosaur ride at AK. I had my head shoved between the seat and my bf's back. Of course he had to buy the pic. I remember when I first went on the ride as soon as I heard Raptor I closed my eyes tight and hid my head :hide:! And I was 18 at the time:silly:! I still like to go on the ride but I would NEVER want to be stuck on that ride :nope:!!

I actually know someone who was on the Tower of Terror and right as the doors opened (right before your fall), the ride froze. She said it was awful sitting there waiting for something to happen - either for her to be calmly escorted off the ride or for the ride to begin and suddenly fall!!

I think that CoP would be a little creepy to get stuck in...
I can't get "It's a great big beautiful tomorrrow.." out of my head from five years ago, and I did'nt get stuck in it...

We had an experience on Test Track. The cars in front of us got stuck inside the 'heat test' tunnel and also the 'cold test' tunnel - not a very comfortable place to be stuck for several minutes!

From what I understand, that couldn't happen. Gravity would be allowed to bring you to an upright position.

:sulley:

I have a friend who was stuck on RnRC just before the corkscrew because of a power outage. She said the car ahead of her was hanging upside down, but instead of allowing that car to be given a little nudge to be placed back upright, cast members raised a scissor-like platform up from underneath them and manually lowered each person out of their seat (from the upside-down position) onto the platform. I just can't imagine that being safer than just moving the car down the track until it gets upright, but she swears that is how they did it. :ack:

I really question the accuracy of this story, but that is what she told me...

We've had two. One on Stitch a few years back which was awful. It was just getting to the creepy, dark, foggy part, my younger DS is in tears and then it all stops for 5-10 minutes before we're given the boot.

Got stuck on Splash during an Extra Magic hour night. We were somewhere DEEP in B'er Woods or wherever and it tookthem forever to get to us and then lead us out. Was kind of cool but creepy makin our way out.

My personal "what if" scenario would be if in the middle of HofP the Presidents all came to life zombie-like and started heading for the aisles!!

Hmm, I think the worst ride that I've been stuck on is Space Mountain. The reason is that they put on the lights and I was able to see all the tracks, control station and the floor. It just kind of killed the allure of a dark ride for me.

I've been caught on Tower of Terror just before the traveling cage tries to enter the elevator. There was a problem and the lights came on. A cast member walked us to the back door and we had to pass the scene where there are plastic ghosts, the 'eye', etc,... I don't want to ruin it for others so I'll stop at this point. No :spoiler: here.

The funniest time I've been stuck on a ride was POTC right where the pirate is trying to get his cat to drink up. For exactly 22 minutes, I heard, "here kitty, kitty".

I now hate cats!!! :thedolls:

Oh wait, I've always hated cats! :ack:

Worst for me? Getting stuck in the Tarzan room of the Great Movie ride for half an hour- and they didn't shut Tarzan off! He just kept swinging back and forth and back and forth yelling "ahayiyiyiyiah!"

>.< Not a good way to start off a morning EMH...

How about PotC? We were stuck on it for almost an hour, the bad part is we were in the drunken pirates room and heard Yo Ho Yo Ho A Pirate's Life for me over and over and over. We were in the water area, so they had to get everyone else off and push our "boat" back so we could step onto a floor. The cool thing was we had to take a back way out and had to walk through the area where the Spectro Floats are kept (It just happened to be during SpectroMagic, so we got to see the floats coming or going with the lights on.

We got stuck in the hallway of The Haunted Mansion right under the spot where he says something about cold running chills and the blast of cold air hits you. It wasn't that it was scary, just cold and it was a cool night in December. Also, my daughter would just flip out if we got stuck on IASW. She already calls them "dollies of doom". She has issues with dolls. Weird, isn't it?

Last year when we were on the TTA we got stuck inside the space mountain area. My DS age 4 at the time started calling out "hey peoples we are stuck in here lets get moving" the other people on the ride all started to laugh everytime he said it.

Anything that has a locked restraint. I was on TT once when it broke down, 3 cars from unloading. It broke down for about 20 minutes, I had to talk myself down several times, I hate BENG RESTRAINED. The cool part was when the ride came back on-line they let everyone on the ride to go again.

How is this for ironic: My best friend and I were on the old World of Motion at EPCOT when it broke down:D We were stuck in the chaotic city street scene and the animatronics froze up. It was pretty freaky.

I would hate to be stuck in the Snow White ride at MK. I'm 39 years old and that witch still terrifies me!

Not sure when you were there, but this happened to us this past August. We were stuck in the heat tunnel for about 20 minutes! Thank goodness I had a water bottle in my backpack, it was quite warm in there!

DS got stuck in the corrosion smell room on TT. The odor really made him feel nauseous.
Whenever I go on Splash Mtn, I'm terrified that the ride will get stuck just as we go up the hill before we drop.

Whenever I go on Splash Mtn, I'm terrified that the ride will get stuck just as we go up the hill before we drop.

I always worry about that too! Usually on just about any ride with hills and things I look around at some point and think "now how embarrassing would it be and how many people would it take to get me out if the ride stopped here?" I have physical problems so that just always seems to come to mind. It could be from the time we got stuck on BTMRR right after I'd had surgury on both legs...I couldn't jump and at that time there was nothing saying that you had to be able to jump off the ride if it stopped unexpectedly so we didn't think anything about it. Mom and I got to just around the bend from the station and it stopped. There is a fairly high jump and was impossible for me at the time even with help. We explained and after waiting about 20 minutes alone while the others had been walked off, all these guys in suits came to help the CMs push our train in. Unique experience! The next day they had added the line that we had to be able to jump to get out of the ride when we used the wheelchair entrance! (alright, I confess, I rode again anyway!)

My DH, DS3 and DS6 were stuck in Carousel of Progress for five cycles of the same time period. We all tried twice to get up and go and each time were told to sit back down. The worse part was it happened at the very beginning and we had to sit through the other timeframes. It wasn't a great big beautiful tomorrow for us :(

Ok, so I have to admit I'm a little scared of the dark (alright a lot scared) well, I had gone to the Magic Kingdom alone for a solo day and decided to go on HM. This was before the refurb and the stairs area was pitch black. Wouldn't you know that's the spot I'd get stuck for 10 minutes..... I was almost in a panic, I actually had my cell phone out and was going to call my boyfriend just to calm me down when the ride started back up... note to self, no more dark rides alone :D

Speaking of traumatic experiences in Small World...
Several trips back our DD REALLY wanted to ride it once more and convinced her 2 teen DB's that we should do this as a family once more before we left the MK. They were surly but agreed to endure it just to make her hush. We had just entered the attraction and were still on the ramp above the boarding area.
A boat came in but before it could dock properly a little girl tried to jump out and slipped between the boat and the dock. The CM's quickly saw what had happened, told everyone to stay seated so they could nudge the boat away and pull her up. Would have been fine but her Dad, who was not in the boat but was filming his family, panicked and jumped over all the rails to get to her. Made things worse because the boat was no longer steady. Long story short, the little girl was fine, the Dad suffered a broken bone or two, IASM was shut down for the rest of the evening and our sons now have a "legitimate excuse" to avoid that ride. They call it the death trap. :thedolls:
