WDW during Daytona 500 week

looks like the wife and I are heading to WDW from Feb 9- Feb 13

The Daytona 500 is the Sunday after.

I ve been to WDW and to the 500 but never both in the same week

Is there a notcicable bump in attendance from race fans heading over for a day trip away from the races?

I doubt it will create any major crowding issues for us that week but Im just curious

This was our annual family trip from '89 to '98. We would arrive the Friday before the week before the 500. Crowds were okay until the Thursday before the 500. This was when schools would let out for the President's Day weekend and northeast schools take a mid-winter break.

In '04 and '06 when I was there for the 500 (we stayed on property and drove to Daytona for the 300 and 500), the crowds were about the same and the increase was seen on Monday - President's Day. We always leave on Tuesday so it was more important to have average lines earlier in the trip.

I hope this helped. I believe you will hit average lines but use fast pass. We never made it to Toy Story Mania - 45 min wait at 10 am and return fast pass at 3 pm. We will hit this in May '09.
