This is going to be SOO much fun!! My first trip was in the 80s. 1986. It was with a band I twirled with. They were called the Blazers Band and us twirlers were called the Blazerettes. It was so much fun!! I have been hooked since the first visit!!

I cannot remember the exact year of my first trip or how old. I do remember I was a young child. At that time it was only the MK. Everybody was dressed up by today's standards. I had a white purse that I carried - not sure why I remember this. Our party included my mother, uncle, aunt and myself. I cannot remember anybody else. I am sure the rest of my siblings were there but simply didn't make into the old memory bank :(

I remember the wonderful smells down Main Street :cloud9: Everything was so new and different - I was just amazed.

I remember waiting in line (for a long time) for SM. Once we got to the front of the line, we chickened out. I have not gone on SP yet :blush

Boy...old childhood memories can bring a smile to your face :mickey::cloud9:

Thanks for the trip down memory lane

I didn't go to the World until 2004...although I planned and dreamed about it A LOT before that.

My first trip was to DL in the late 60's with my family. First trip to WDW would have been shortly after it opened. Next trip was 1995 with my husband, daughter who was 5, and my mother. Since then it's been at least once every year.

My first trip was in 1975. The entire extended family went, and we stayed at Ft. Wilderness. I still remember serveral things vividly, and recall how I never wanted to leave. I still get that same feeling at 40:thumbsup:

I'm pretty sure it was 1980, but I may be wrong, it could have been earlier, maybe 1978 or so.
Space Mountain was fairly new still and Epcot wasn't open yet. All that was there was Magic Kingdom, and that was a three day park back then. ABCDE tickets were needed.
Side note, International Drive was incomplete, Wet & Wild was about half the size!

My very first trip to WDW was in 1994. I never got to experience the parks back in the 70s or 80s. I was very glad I got to experience Horizons before it was replaced by Mission:Space and the original Journey Into Your Imagination. I wish they would redo JIYI because I really don't like this incarnation.

My first trip was in the spring (I think) of 1986.

My father's company was having a convention in Orlando and my parents took the ooportunity to have our first ever WDW trip. We were blown away, though there was only Epcot and MK at the time. That was plenty! :mickey:

I chose 1980's because we started going as a couple for the first time the year Epcot opened. Great time and really represents our start. But I had been there in the 70's before we met and my first trip to Disneyland was 1957or 58.

My first trip was in 1979. I was four years old and my mom was pregnant with my sister. I don't remember where we stayed. My parents still remind me to this day of the number of times I insisted on going on the It's a Small World ride. I was sound asleep on my dad's shoulder every night when they left... with a Mickey balloon tied to my wrist.

First trip was in 75 (hence my screen name)...DW and I took DS#1, then 10, DD#1, (7), DD#2 (5), and DW's parents. We stayed 3 nights in the Contemporary.....Recall that on our very first trip, the FT Wilderness launch was passing over the road to the Contemporary....We spotted the castle as we approached the Contemporary. So many highlights to that first trip, but the very best part was discovering that we were expecting DS#2 as we journeyed home.

My first trip was a surprise thanks to my dad...in 1992...my first ride was Figment, only ride Dad was able to ride due to having a St. Jude's heart valve...Me and dad rode it together :-) So figment will forever hold a piece of my heart :cloud9:

My first trip was with my parents in 1977. I was 12.

I distinctly remember riding POC 3-4 times because my dad loved it. Also, I recall the HM and eating dinner in Cindy's Castle.

The 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea submarines were sooooo cool! They need to bring those back!!

My first trip was in 1994. I was 7 and had won a radio call in contest, and then we got offered a discount rate on a Big Red Boat cruise and Disney trip. We were supposed to stay offsite at a Hilton (I think, maybe Hyatt?) but they were overbooked and we got moved to All Star Sports! We went back in 1996 and have been going at least once a year since! (Except this year :( ) But I'm all about planning for next year!

My first trip was a Thanksgiving weekend trip during 1980. I can still remember riding Space Mountain for the first time and one of my sisters was so tiny, my step mom was afraid she would fall out. It was crazy fun.

My first trip was in '72. It was DD, DM, my 2 DB's & myself. We stayed offsite in Kissimee, I seem to be the only one other than DM that remembers it. It's funny, I remember the most obscure things about that trip. The pancake breakfasts in the hotel restaurant, the bell bottom striped pants everyone ( including me) seemed to be wearing, a Steel Barrel Drum Band that played in Adventureland, and my DM's favorite ride... 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Oh yeah, I also recall buying toy guns and actually being able to carry them through the airport & on the plane. We flew Eastern Airlines, the " Official Airline of Walt Disney World". Things were alot simpler back then. :)

Our first trip was in 1983. Only MK and EPCOT were open, and we stayed at the Contemporary. Our kids were 10 & 12. We stayed five days, and it was truly magical. Our first ride was the one they tore down and replaced with Test Track. (Oh, the aged mind is soooo disconnected). Every trip is special, but that one was so memorable.:mickey:

i went to WDW for the first time in 1977 at 4 years old. i would NOT get off cinderella's golden carousel. a few years later we went for the opening of Epcot. My dad got us a room at the contemporary with a view of the MK for one night during our stay. i remember him telling me and my brother that it cost 100 dollars. i remember thinking that was SO MUCH MONEY i just couldnt believe it!!! the lines were soooo long at Epcot for the rides... but i absolutely LOVED everything there. for some reason i have very clear memories of World of Motion. needless to say i've been hooked for a long time.

My first trip was in the early '80's, I think 1985. I was 3 at the time and the only things I really remember were riding Dumbo and chasing down Goofy (for some reason I don't remember Mickey at all!). Mom still laughs at Dad because he was from WV where, at least at that time, "real men" did not wear shorts. She said he was about the only person there in jeans! Since then he has agreed to at least where shorts on vacation. Our next trip I was in 3rd grade and got to get out of school 2 days early...I bragged about that! I remember that trip a lot more!

My first trip was in 1977 - I was 7 years old and my whole family went (all 7 kids and my parents). My Dad had a business trip at various places in the South so we packed up the car, hooked up the pop up trailer and away we went for 3 weeks, with our main destination being WDW. We were not originally staying in Fort Wilderness, but after having to leave a scary campground outside of New Orleans, we moved to a new campground and met this great family from California (whom my parents kept in touch with all these years). They were supposed to be meeting family at FW, but they cancelled, so since they still had the reservation, they gave it to my parents! :mickey: I don't remember very much, but I do remember being bitterly disappointed Cinderella's castle was not a "real" castle to explore - and I remember Chip or Dale stealing my seat at the movie at FW. This trip took place during the NYC blackout of '77 and our new friends had this little black and white TV and I remember all the adults grouped around it watching the news from NY!!

1975 as a 16 yr. old, I won a trip to Disney World - it was only the Magic Kingdom at that point. Trip was not offered in 76, but I won it again in 77 and 78.
While I don't miss the A-E tickets, they did make you think about what rides and how often you could ride on each one.

It was 1976, my parents and my sister drove down from NJ in a car with vinyl seats and no air conditioning! We stayed at a Days Inn outside the park. I remember my favorite ride was Pirates and HM. We also went to River Country. The next time was in 1986 on my honeymoon. :mickey:

My first trip was in 1976 when I was five. My parents went to daytona speedweeks and took me to see the Magic Kingdom on our way through as my present.

We camped at Fort Wilderness where I met my first 'Possidilly'. I was a bit precocious, somehow I knew at age 5 that the armadillo wouldn't hurt us. My parents flew into the camper as I sat patiently at the picnic table and exclaimed "mom, the Possidilly won't hurt us!":D
