Oct. 16, 1903 – Animator/director Hamilton Luske, who contributed to such Disney classics as “Pinocchio,” “Alice in Wonderland,” and “Peter Pan,” was born in Illinois.
Oct. 16, 1923 – The Disney Brothers Studio was founded as a partnership when Walt (age 22) and his older brother Roy signed a contract with New York Cartoon distributor M. J. Winkler to produce a series of the animated shorts “Alice Comedies.”
Oct. 16, 1925 – Actress Angela Lansbury, the voice of Mrs. Potts in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” and the star of “Bedknobs and Broomsticks,” was born in London, England.
Oct. 16, 1937 – Donald Duck’s identical triplets, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, debuted in Disney’s Silly Symphony comic strip.
Oct. 16, 1938 – Disney’s 1st full-length animated feature “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was released in Finland.
Oct, 16, 1953 – Disney’s “Peter Pan” was released in Australia.
Oct. 16, 1959 – Disney’s TV show “Killers of the High Country” aired.
Oct. 16, 1960 – The Disney TV show aired “Rapids Ahead/Bear Country.”
Oct. 16, 1960 – The Walt Disney Presents TV series kicked off its 7th season on ABC.
Oct. 16, 1966 – The Disney TV show “The 101 Problems of Hercules” aired.
