Oct. 11, 1946 – Disney’s Figaro cartoon “Bath Day” was released.
Oct. 11, 1955 – Ticket books are available for the 1st time at Disneyland. The book contained A, B, and C tickets. (D tickets would not be added until the following year.)
Oct. 11, 1955 – The Mickey Mouse Club aired the episode “Today is Guest Star Day” on ABC-TV.
Oct. 11, 1956 – “The Muppets” made their 1st network television appearance on “The Steve Allen Show.”
Oct. 11, 1959 – The “Rainbow Caverns Mine Train” attraction closed in Disneyland’s Frontierland.
Oct. 11, 1962 – Actress Joan Cusack, the voice of Alsatia Zevo in Disney’s 1992 “Toy Story” and Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl in Disney’s 1999 “Toy Story 2,” was born in New York.
Oct. 11, 1964 – The Disney TV show “A Rag, a Bone, a Box of Junk,” aired.
Oct. 11, 1968 – Apollo 7 (the first manned mission in the Apollo program was launched from Cape Canaveral, Fl. for an 11-day earth-orbital mission. The crew consisted of Commander Wally Schirra, Command Module Pilot Donn Eisele, and Lunar Module Pilot Walter Cunningham. Around the wrist of Schirra…was a Mickey Mouse watch!
Oct. 11, 1985 – Actress Michelle Trach Tenberg, the star of Disney’s 2005 “Ice Princess,” was born in N.Y.C.
Oct. 11, 1986 – Animator Dave Hand, who was the Walt Disney Studios 21st animator, and was the production supervisor of the Studio and directed “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” died in San Luis Obispo, Ca.
