Its been forever since I rode this as a kid, so I don't remember what its like exactly. Is this something I could take my 17 month old on?

It is a really basic ride. Dumbo goes in circle at a relatively slow speed. You can make dumbo go up and down. There is no age or height restrictions to my knowledge. I think this would entirely be up to you.

Absolutely take your little one!!! This is a great first ride!

The CM's will only ask that you seat the child on the inside of the car so that you are sitting near the door.

This makes is kind of bad of pictures, but there is a dumbo car as you get off of the ride (on the backside) that you can sit in for pictures...

Have a great trip!!!
