New 5X Disney Rewards offer

Yesterday, I received an offer for 5X Disney Reward Dollars on my Disney Visa. The offer is for 5X rewards on all gas purchases in October, November and December.
Unlike the previous reward bonus offers, this one does not require any minimum purchase per month to receive the extra points.
Is this a sign of the current hard economic times, to encourage more spending on travel, or is Disney just feeling generous these days?
How many others got this offer......

Yeah, all of the previous offers like this that I recieved had a $750 requirement before you get the extra points on amounts over that for purchases in different catagories, like groceries, dining out and gas. They also required tha you spent over $750 for each catogory, exclusive of each other, before you recieved the bonus.
This is different, there is no minimum required and it is only for gas............

Mine is different than yours. Mine says spend above $1000 each month in dining, gas, airlines, and groceries. I wonder why they wouldn't offer same to everyone?

I don't know, I think the amount is based on what you normally spend each month, to encourage you to spend more. Maybe because I've never responded to any of the previous offers, never used the card for gas, who knows???

Yeah, mine was the $1,000 PER MONTH for airline, gas, groceries,etc. I only spend that big when I'm going to Disney World!!!!

I doubt I'll hit that threshold this coming quarter but it was exciting until I read the small sprint!

I had one for the summer months where I had to spend $1000, but just signed up for the fall where you only have to spend $750/month in order to get 5x the rewards.

We pay everything on our card and pay it off each month, so it is a great deal for us!! Free money!!

www.chaserewards.com/disney4. but you need to enter your enrollment code. You might have to call them directly and see if they can give you the code#.

We just got them as well. It was for 5x the points on gas, groceries, and airfare. Minimum of 250 dollars! I signed up and bought our airfare for our wedding!

i got so excited about this offer and called the 1800 # right away. unfortunately, they do not offer this to every single disney visa card holder. they do rotate the offer though, i'll just wait for my turn

I got the card in the mail today for 5x rewards on all gas purchases now through the end of the year. There is no minimum amount I need to spend and there is a maximum of 100 points that can be earned. Time to start having the rest of my family and DBF to start using my credit card to fill up their cars!

We got an offer like this a month or two ago, but we had a $750 minimum per month. I didn't even bother to enroll.

My DF and I each got one. It was a separate mailer that they sent out. This is the first one I have taken advantage of. I hope to make some good use out of it! We are saving our disney dollars for our honeymoon. The offer is good till the end of December.

Obviously Chase is very careful who they send out what offers to. I could only HOPE to receive the gas/groceries offer for over $750. Instead I received an offer for 5X points if I spent more than $250 in telecommunications charges each month on the card.

That happens to be the ONE thing we don't charge to our Visa card each month! :(

Yes, make sure you read the fine print.
These offers with minimum purchases only give you the 5x rewards on amounts over the minimum.
As an example, if the offer was for 5x points for grocery purchases over $250.00 and you spent $500.00, your rewards would be;
$250.00 x .01 = 2.5
$250.00 x .05 = 12.5
Total Spent = $500.00 / Total points = 14.5
(Not 25)
Still, not bad if you spend that much.
Also keep in mind that the different catagories are exclusive of each other, in other words, the amount that you charge towards groceries is entirely seperate from the amounts you spend on air travel or gasoline or whatever else, when calculating reward bonus points.
And just one more thing, (I promise) Chase only provides administrative services for the Disney card, what the offers are, and who recieves them, is entirely at the direction of the Disney company.......

I also got the offer....I have to spend $750 per month on those items....the last promotion was $500 per month and my sister's was $250...

Not sure why there are all these different amounts.

I received the $750 on food/gas/airline tickets. Did the same offer for the summer promo and ended up with 70 bonus points. It doesn't cost anything to sign-up, so why not.

That's the same one I got. I signed up for it, even though I don't buy gas or groceries with my card. Might as well sign up in case I change my mind.

I signed up for it. I started using it to pay phone bill and monthy insurance hoping it will add up. I have a bunch of points from our dvc purchase and I'm hoping to get close enough to get the AP's. :o)

The categories are gas, airlines, food and dining. So you need to spend $250.00 a month in each, well other then the food it's not happening.

Thanks for posting this, the separate categories thing stinks IMHO.

Not near as good of a deal as I thought. :(
