exploring AKL and Simba's Club

We are planning a meal at Jiko, and will leave the kids at Simba's Kids Club so we can have an adult dinner.

We've never seen AKL before. I'd like to allow time to explore the resort and see if we can catch a glimpse of any animals, etc.

How much time should we allow for this? Should we do it with kids or without kids?
Do you know if the kids will get to do any "animal watching" at the kids club?

I would plan for an hour to see the animals. There are three different sections to see different animals at each. I would do it with the kids because you can see if it is somewhere you will want to stay in the future.
