Sept. 29, 1904 – Actress Greer Garson was born in London, England. She would play the role of Mrs. Cordelia Biddle in Disney’s 1967 live-action feature “The Happiest Millionaire.”
Sept. 29, 1906 – Musical director, composer, orchestrator, and conductor Charles Wolcott was born. His Disney credits include “Bambi,” “The Three Caballeros,” “Make Mine Music,” “Song of the South,” and “Fun and Fancy Free.”
Sept. 29, 1934 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Mickey Plays Papa” was released.
Sept. 29, 1938 – Walt Disney Enterprises, Disney Film Recording Company, and Liled Realty and Investment Company all merged into Walt Disney Productions.
Sept. 29, 1954 – Actor, puppeteer, and voice-over artist Jeff Breslauer was born in N.Y. His Disney theme park roles include Chester Diggs at Animal Kingdom, Papa Noel at Epcot’s Canada pavilion, and The Dreamfinder (while manipulating Figment) in front of Epcot’s Imagination pavilion. Breslauer puppeteered in “The Muppets Take Manhatten,” (operating an Irish setter) and “The Muppets at Walt Disney World.”
Sept. 29, 1958 – The LP record “Firehouse Five Plus Two-16 Dixieland Favorites” was released.
Sept. 29, 1962 – Actor/singer Roger Bart, the voice of young Hercules in Disney’s 1997 animated feature, was born in Norwalk, Ct.
Sept. 29, 1963 – Disney’s part-1 of the 2-part TV movie “The Horse Without a Head,” aired on Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color. (Part-2 aired Oct. 6, 1963)
Sept. 29, 1971 – Actor Mackenzie Crook, known for his role of Ragetti in both Disney features “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest,” was born in Kent, England.
Sept. 29, 1973 – Actor Brad Kane, the singing voice of Disney’s “Aladdin,” was born in New Rochelle, N.Y.
