Updating Pal Mickey?

We have bought a used Pal Mickey online. Will he update himself automatically when we enter the Parks, or do we need to take him somewhere to get "upgraded." I think he is a few years old.

From what I was told, it automatically updates when you enter the gates. They say it's best to be holding him in front of you when you enter.

You know if hes updated if he comments by the statue of Roy and Minnie (as well as commenting on newer attractions like Monsters Inc.). If youd like you can always take him to the Town Hall/Guest Relations on Main St and they can update him there. I bought the original Pal Mickey when he came out and have had no problems keeping him up to date.

When we made our ressies the cm told me yes you can still purchase them.

I forgot to add that I believe he only updates in MK.

We just recieved a pal Mickey for our DS's trip in Feb 09. You can definately still buy him and he has various outfits you can buy for him. We got a pirate outfit for our DS's Mickey. We paid $65 going thru Disney Merchandising.
