I for one am very happy with the new promotion. I am a PAP holder so the birthday admission would not give me anything. But, they gave AP holders choices of other things to pick from.:tink:

I was looking over the FAQs of this upcoming promotion and was interested to find this bit of information.......

Q: Can I upgrade my free birthday ticket to another ticket type?

A: Yes, you can be upgraded on your birthday to a ticket type of equal or greater value. However, you are responsible for any additional cost, and the new ticket may be used only by you.

My annual pass is expiring next month and I wasn't going to renew it until my next big trip in April. But if I can get a $70 savings on my birthday, I may renew it then (in January) instead.

If I had an AP, I'd go for it too, Linda.

But the equal value merchandise certificate becons as well.

Hmm. Collector's Edition light sabre, or renew ap early?
Decisions, decisions.

With very little planning / effort involved, at least one person in
every group of guests gets a real treat. It's one of the
best promos I've seen in years.

Finding out about the upgrading to an AP pass. Makes the AP pass even more appealing to me. Now just to get my dh down there in April or October too....

Just want to point out that you can NOT just walk up to the ticket booth and request a free ticket because it is your birthday. There is a registration process. Go to the "Free Admission on your Birthday" (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/WhatWillYouCelebrate/disneyland/index?name=CelebrationsDLRFreeOnYourBirthdayPage) page on the Disneyland website and register. You will receive an email about 2 weeks before your birthday with a printable page with a barcode. You must present that page and an ID at the ticket booth upon the arrival.
