Sept. 12, 1894 – Billy Gilbert, the voice of Sneezy in Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” was born in Louisville, Kentucky.
Sept. 12, 1905 – Layout artist Cornett Wood was born in Indiana. Wood would start his career with Disney and work on the features “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Fantasia,” and “Bambi.” He would spend the rest of his career at Warner Bros.
Sept. 12, 1931 – Actor Sir Ian Holm, the voice of Skinner in Disney/Pixar’s “Ratatouille,” was born in Goodmayes, Essex, England.
Sept. 12, 1936 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Donald and Pluto” was released.
Sept. 12, 1941 – The Disney animation strike ended by federal mediators.
Sept. 12, 1941 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Old MacDonald Duck” was released.
Sept. 12, 1943 – Mouseketeer Jay-Jay Solari, who appeared on “The Mickey Mouse Club” during the 1956-1957 season was born.
Sept. 12, 1947 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Wide Open Spaces” was released.
Sept. 12, 1956 – The Disneyland TV series aired “Antarctica – Past and Present,” in which Walt Disney hosts a look at his plans for a brand new documentary on Antartica.
Sept. 12, 1958 – The “Walt Disney Presents” TV series began airing on ABC. (Ended Sept. 17, 1961)
