:spoiler: (Just a little warning for those that do not want to know)
When you ask for ketchup at WCC they bring you every avaliable bottle in the restaurant and then you return the favor to the next family that asks for it; you and your family usher over all of the bottles to their table. As the CMs yell to each other across the restaurant so that everyone is watching and joining in the fun. It really is fun. It is all in good fun and the children love it!!!

I concur.....and it's not just the ketchup, there are many things the CM's do to liven it up ..... it's really a fun place to eat, plus the resort is BEAUTIFUL !!!:mickey:

If you want to really enjoy yourself, make sure you tell the hostess that you want a waitperson who plays along and you will have the most fun. When we were there last year I had a waiter who had started two weeks earlier. It wasn't as fun. However, I did drink my drink too fast and got brought a thimble-sized mason jar with an extra long straw. Also, a child asked for crayons and everybody brought the crayons to the table.
Just make sure you play along and enjoy it.

When we were there a couple of years ago, not many people eating were into the whole ketchup thing, so DD took it upon herself to run around to every table and pick up all of the ketchup and take it to the table who asked!
The table beside us gave her a $1 tip for all of her hard work

That is too funny. We are planning to eat here on our March trip. The kids and DH will love it because they like to embarrass me when we go out to eat.

I found, last year, a list of things to ask the server, including where is your six shooter, challenging them to a draw, wearing a Universal shirt, anything about ketchup or crayons, but I can't remember where that is.
If anybody knows what I am talking about and can post the link, please do so.
Also, try to resist the urge to ask "what happens when they do <X>." The fun is in the surprise of what happens.

This is hilarious- especially when its unexpected-
Our first experience with it was hilarious , we must have gotten 30 ketchup bottles on our table Then it was fun bringing it to the next victim.
One time we were there for breakfast, and my wife tried to reach over and grab a bottle from an empty table that had one ( table was being cleared. BUT the waiter saw and caught her-
It was great- he was LOUD and i laughed my butt off when she got the delivery of all those bottles.

My friend just got back the other day and ate @ WC. She said she was "arrested" by the waiter and given a "Disney citation" It said something like, you have been issued this citation for having too much fun, imitating Goofy, etc.... :mickey:
She didn't tell me what she did to get this treatment. :secret:

I think the craziest thing I have ever seen at WC happened to a set of twins celebrating a birthday (I think they turned 18). If you've ever been to WC you know that they have children ride around on stick horses. Well they made these poor teenagers ride around the restaurant on stick horses while singing happy birthday to each other. They were told if they didn't sing loud enough they would have to do it again. Well the girl did a great job, but the boy hardly sang. So they made the boy repeat this but he had to do it while riding around the Christmas tree in the lobby. It was hilarious! Not only were the people in the restaurant cracking up but everyone in the lobby was too. Their parents really got a kick out of embarassing their children.

Just try to think of some things that waiters wish they could do, but can't in a "normal" restaurant.

I know you Brits have a reputation for shyness and reserved coolness but since just about everyone in the place gets picked on at one point or another it really is not that big of a deal. Also, it is all done in good fun so no one feels that they are somehow being "picked on" or being made fun of.

:spoiler:We went there on Aug. 24th and it was so much fun. The food was so good. When we asked for ketchup, they brought all the bottles, plus a huge cardboard bottle over. They also broght over a little chef statue. BTW, does anybody know what the name is? Our waitress said it, but I forget. Also, they made all of the guys 21 and older get up and sing and dance "I'm a little teapot" Hilarious, especially when you know someone up there and have pics of them!

The first time we walked in the the WCC we saw a table with tons of ketchup on it. I was perpelexed as to why anyone needed that much ketchup. It didnt take long before we figured it out.

Just be prepared for a few things...
Your waitstaff may not be "into" his/her role, and thus things you expect may not happen (ie: ketchup)
In May, if you went to WCC for lunch, ketchup bottles were all pre-placed on the tables... no need to ask for one
If you get a good waitstaff, chew gum, ask for directions to Universal, talk on your cell phone to a friend, tell them how very thirsty you are, wear an advertising shirt (other than Disney), share that it is a b'day for someone in your party, ask where the restrooms are... Some of these work - at times!
