Aug. 31, 1903 – One of the great pioneers of animation Hugh Harman was born in Pagosa Springs, Co. (he would first work at Walt Disney Studio’s in Kansas City before going onto start the Warner Brothers and MGM animation Studios with Rudolf Ising.)
Aug. 31, 1924 – Buddy Hackett, famed comedic actor and 2003 Disney Legend Honoree, and who portrayed Tennessee \ Steinmetz in Disney’s “The Love Bug,” and supplied the voice of Scuttle in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,”was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Disney’s proposal included up to 27 chair lifts (with a capacity for 11, 400 seats per hour), hotels for up to 3,000 guests, and ten-story underground parking for 3,600 cars. (The resort would never be built)
