I found the following information below on another WDW-related site and wanted to know if anyone could verify that it was true. But in general, with the Dining Plan, if you know you won't be using as many table-service credits as you would quick service, are you normally permitted to go to a quick-service place and use a table-service credit instead?

This is what the other site said:

"Guests on the Disney Dining Plan or Disney Deluxe Dining Plan who choose to dine in Quick Service locations using their Table Service entitlements between August 24 and September 27, 2008, will receive from the Quick Service Restaurant cashier a Disney Dining Plan Snack or Merchandise Certificate. The certificate can be redeemed for:

- Two snacks, both redeemed at the same time and at the same participating location. Redeemable at any Quick Service or Outdoor Foods location or participating Merchandise locations.

or

- One Sling Mesh Bag.
Valid at one of the participating merchandise locations listed on the back of the certificate."

It was true last September when we were there - no mesh bag though, they offered trading pins and a lanyard which the kids loved.

There was even a way to swap a CS for 2 snack credits I think also...but that didn't show up until we had been there a few days.

The free dining puts a lot of pressure on the TS restaurants, so they were willing to reward you for not using it.

1) Good thought.
2) But, incorrect.
3) When they swap, they make a approx 27% added profit.
4) Sure is an incentive for WDW to allow swaps.

NOTE: Disney does not do things for the financial benefit of the guest. It does things for the financial benefit of Disney. If you look further than the hype, you see the base financial reasoning.

To answer the OP's original question - the first time we had the DDP in 2005, we were offered the chance to swap some TS credits for CS credits and CS credits for snack credits. They had to do it at Guest Services, the restaurants themselves couldn't do it. Since that time I don't know the answer since there have been many changes to the DDP. Your best bet might be just to stop in at Guest Services or Lobby Concierge at your resort and ask there.

NO it is not normal it is because of the "free" DDP being offered during that time. Some people are unable to get ADRs to eat at TS locations. We asked about trading some of our credits when we were there in October and we were told they only did it when the TS places were swamped!

Well, thank goodness, then that for 2009 they'll be offering a quick-service dining plan so if you're not normally one of those who feels the need to have a sit-down meal each day, you won't have to.

Sorry for interrupting, but can you use two table service options on one day for two different restaurants or are you only allowed to use one a day even if you have enough? We won't be eating at WDW the days we arrive and leave and wanted to use our extra table service.

You're mighty right!

We go to WDW again and again but while we're thinking

M.A.G.I.C.

the company is thinking

M.O.N.E.Y.
