Every resort is included-subject to availability. The WL and monorail resorts sell out very quickly, as does POFQ.

The dates listed on this general public discount are the exact same dates that were listed on the email PIN code and the mailing PIN code that we recieved almost two weeks ago. Only difference (that I know of) is that with the PIN code we have until 12/23 to book.

Will be interesting to see what the discounts end up being for this code.

she already has a ressie at WL and she called this morning at 8:00 and the CRO told her that WL is not included.

Unfortunately, it doesnt matter if she has a reservation already, the resort must have promo rates available to switch her to.

By 8am they could have easily been gone. WL sells out in minutes on promotional rates.

We were up at "O dark 30" accessing through the portal for availability and still had some we could not get.

Apparently there's nothing available October 10-14th anywhere on property. Very disheartening. I'm guessing because it's Columbus Day weekend? I guess I didn't think that was a big weekend. :(

:thedolls:This totally stinks! I booked this week (Dec7-16) two years ago and got a discount. Now it's the only week that doesn't get a discount. 2 reasons: Pop Warner booking a gillion rooms and MouseFest. It ***** because I'm not a part of either. I guess I'll have to stick to value resorts this year. :thedolls::mad::ack:

When I got a PIN code in the mail I tried to go to Disney's website to see if I could input the code and get a quote at the discounted price. I could not find a location to enter the code. I tried their webchat help desk and the on-line CM told me the only way to do it was to call Disney Travel direct (or thru a TA).

I would assume this might apply to general public codes as well, but I could be wrong.

We booked our vacation through AAA and I called our agent today. I paid it off Monday, so I figured I would just get a credit, but she said it didn't apply to us. She said she spoke to someone at Disney and neither were sure of where I got the information. Before this post I had obtained an e-mail from Disney Visa about it, but figured I couldn't use it. Anyone know about this? Oh yea, she said I was already getting the cheapest amount.

It is hard to say without knowing specifics. You can check the Disney website and see if its available and then tell her to try again? It can be applied to packages that have been paid in full.

Many agencies do not like to lower your rate because by doing so it lessens the commission they are paid.

Not that watching out for the agencies bottom line is a bad thing (which is why we don't have a 1-800 number and work 75% of the time via email) but to do so at the expense of a client is just not right IMHO.

Days like today, MJ agents bust their butts (and trust me, they do) to LOSE money.

I'm with you Gator - we planned it for this particular time (Dec. 7-13) for the discounts!

Oh well. Since it's nearly impossible to get a room, but it's mainly because of PW, maybe they'll release a ticket discount or something to get folks to the parks. Considering I'm having to pay ALOT more for my room than I wanted to (wanted a Mod, had to take a deluxe suite) ANY little bone will help.

I know a lot of people are disappointed in the dates. It seems like a lot of people have 'missed out' of the discount because they are going somewhere around the 1st/2nd week of December. I'm assuming that means that Disney doesn't need to 'increase' hotel stays because they are already filled?!?!

Just got off the phone with Disney. Was able to add an extra day with park hopper and meal plan making our stay 8 days and will still be getting back $110.00!!!!!!!!. We are going the week of Veterans Day. We had originally booked with a pin code, and this discount is still saving us quite a bit more. This is great!! I did the math and it must have brought the room rate down to about $50.00 a night. We are staying at POP (BEST RESORT AT WDW!!)and they were able to switch everything over with no problem at all. The CM I spoke with was AWESOME! Can't beleive we get an extra day and still get money back!!!!!

Edit: I called and saved $71.22. We're only there 3 nights and our dates only partially overlap, but it's better than nothing! We're also switching from All-Star Movies to a preferred room at All-Star Sports. Sounds good to me.

Sunshine, from my recent scary experience, I found that for the most part, hotels are filled Dec.7-13. After doing the math, I'm deducting it's due to Pop Warner and MouseFest. There are three adults in my party, and when we booked last week (we were waiting for the Visa discounts which never happened, and now we know why), we were told the best they could do for us was an Old Key West studio. We've been checking periodcally just in case a room becomes available, but it's actually getting worse instead of better. So, after planning for a year for a "magical week" to get a discount, we ended up paying nearly $1200 more instead. (We would have changed it, but we already had our plane tickets and days off.)

HOWEVER....I'm wondering..since Pop is gumming up the rooms...that means that a bulk of the people staying at the resorts will NOT be at the parks, right? (Correct me if I'm wrong, those of you that have stayed during Pop.) SO if that's the case, I'm hoping they're throw us second-weekers a bone with a ticket deal or something in hopes of getting more folks in the parks. ANYTHING will help.

Even a free dole whip. I got no shame.

For those of you asking about how to do online reservations for Disney discount packages - you need to select "Special Offers" from within the "Tickets and Reservations" link.

I booked completely unplanned yesterday for 4 days in December. We're staying at the value resorts for the first time ever (Deluxe loving family here) but couldn't beat the price! The big draw, the flights - Delta in December, 4 people Boston to Orlando for less than $800. Did it all on DisneyWorld.com and was the best price I could find anywhere on the internet.

Woo hoo!!! Can't believe we're going back again!

Do not give up on your favorite resort if you were told the discount code was not available for your resort. POFQ vs. POR

Is one really more expensive than the other one? I've seen a lot of posts on this thread about how they switched to the other one and saved money.....

Just wondering....

The Hitchhiking Ghost
08-20-2008, 06:06 PM
No - POR & POFQ are both moderates (along with CBR & CSR) and as such have the same room pricing. The upcharges for rooms should be the same too (standard view to waterview or prefered room).

So I think the savings from going from POFQ to POR (or vice versa) simply reflects that for that poster's travel dates, one resort had no rooms at the discounted code promotion and the other did.

I think the savings for a moderate using this code is around $55-60 p/night depending on room type and tax. So if someone is staying 8 nights they might realize a $400+ savings.

But POR and POFQ enjoy same rack rate pricing.

I got home from a weekend vacation to find out that my BIL got us the package upgrade for WL. We only saved $120, but we got upgraded to a Courtyard view ($200 value). This package gave $320 in bonuses.

It is too bad we had to book through AAA to start with. This would have been so much easier to let MJ do all this for us.
