I was just wondering the percentage of people going to WDW with and without kids.

Just curious.

We've gone a couple of times without children, but usually we take our DS and DD! It's a lot of fun both ways! :mickey:

Me and my husband don't plan on having kids, so that'll be a no.

I'll be taking three of my four on our trip in September. DS17 is not at all interested. Not his cup of tea.....his loss!

This will be our 2nd trip without our children. DS has no desire to go, but DD keeps saying she'll meet us there.

We've done it both ways. Daughter is now 18 and not considered a child. Next week taking along 7year old niece and 16 year old 2nd cousin.

Yes, we are and always do. DD6 & DS9 are part of the package :). I would love to have an adult trip sometime, though!

Yes, we will. We left the kids home last year and loved the change of pace!

I'm actually getting to take my kiddo back after 12 years. Does it count that she is now 24 years old? She is still my kid - just not in the sense most people think of kids. I'm gonna have fun with her no matter.:cloud9:

I would probably go without the kids and grandkids, but it would not be as much fun. Part of my love for Disney World is what a great place it is for a family vacation. :mickey:

My sister and I would LOVE to take a girls trip, but my two DD's (6&8) love it as much as I do and I would just feel guilty the whole time. It would ruin my trip. Maybe when they hit their teens and would rather do something else, then my sister and I can do our girls trip. But until then it will be me and my girls and my parents. (My husband hates DW, so I leave him at home):mickey:

We are this time. My DW and I have been there a couple times by ourselves but this will be the first time there for our DS-3. I am so excited I am ready to burst!!

We have never gone without kids. I would love to take a trip with my DH alone sometime, but my kids (DSs 7 & 9 and DDs 14, 15, & 17) love it too much to leave them home. I would never get away with it, and I would probably be thinking of how much they would love to be there as well.

On my next visit, September 14-21, I will be traveling with one of my children, by daughter, but she is 20, so not really a "child" any more.

In April it was just my wife and I.

Last September, it was again my daughter and I.

In March of '07 it was my wife and I.

In July of '06, it was my wife, daughter, and 25 year old son. However, we were with my brother-in-law and his family, including 2 teen-aged boys.

So for the most part, we don't take "children" much anymore. However, I'm hoping to soon include my grandson, he's 18 months right now. So we will definitely have a child with us at that point.

Yes as long as he still wants to go- whihc right now would be a huge yes. He's only 5. It will be a very sad day when he doesn't want to travel with us anymore, but I will still go.

We've done both. We have fun both ways, but it's different. Especially if the children are very young. With children, we spend our time trying to make sure they were having fun on the rides they wanted to go on, etc. A very special feeling to watch them have a fabulous time. Without, we could be selfish and do what/when we wanted to do. Also very special. In my opinion, that's one of the greatest things about WDW. It really doesn't matter your age or age of anyone in your group. It is such a diverse place, you just have to have fun there!

We took my two young sons for a week in January, but next Thursday it's just me and my sweetie, headed to the world, kid free.

I can actually enjoy the World Showcase this time instead of saying "no sweetie, don't touch that" 50,000 times.

Yes, with kids....ever since 1999!

We kid about someday not going with them....that day will come soon enough....so we aren't rushing it!

I don't think vacationing in WDW without the kids would be the same.

:mickey:We do both. Our DD is now married and we have 2 DGDs and a third grandchild on the way. We are going with the whole family in Oct. plus my twin sister and her daughter's family. There will be two 5 yr. olds and an almost 3 yr. old. We are so looking forward to it!

No, we are not traveling with kids. It's also because we don't have any. :mickey: It's just going to be two 24-year-old "big kids."

:ditto:

I can't imagine going without the kids. DH and I would love to go alone some day but like the above poster we aren't going to rush it. That day is rapidly approaching. DD#1 is almost 12 and she'll be off to college in a very short 6 years. It already brings tears to my eyes to just think about it.

Althought DH always kids around saying that by the time we are ready to go on our own we'll probably have grandchildren and it'll just be a bigger group never alone [we are pregnant with our 4th (DD#1 11, DD#2 3 1/2, DD#3 1 1/2) so there is a 12 year age gap inbetween our oldest and youngest. When our youngest goes off to college our oldest will be 30!!!] That would be fine with us. Family is so precious the more time together the better!!! :cloud9:

Takin the boys and DW back for a long weekend (Happy birthday to me!). I love my solo trips but sharing the magic with your kids is special. And as mentioned above it goes by far to fast. :(

We are taking our kids this December.:mickey:

We have always gone to WDW with our kids. But, my husband and I went this past June for a few days without them for the first time. We had a great time. It was kind of odd without them though.

I've entertained the idea, but then feel guilty about leaving them behind. Actually, I was planning on just me and one DS going this month and felt guilty about leaving the other DS at home so he's coming along as well, but doesn't know it yet. I've always thought a grown-up trip would be fun on a very different level, but the guilt gets me every time.

Heck, I feel bad going away to the beach for the weekend without them and we're there all the time in the summer.

DH and I have gone several time sans kids, for our honeymoon, our 10th anniversay, and a few time in between(with other family and friends). We were married 14 yrs BC (before children), and have taken our DD 5 time since (even on our 25th anniversary in 03) and are going again in 09:joy::woohoo::yay: and will
not think of going (and would not be allowed to go) without her!:nono: That being said, I see many future magical journeys to WDW in our future, with her (and her family if she chooses that path), and just us two if we want:hug:

I have the pleasure of taking not only my DW but my DD who will turn 1 while we are at WDW this September. I am really looking forward to taking DD along even. She wont remember a thing but isn't that why they invented video cameras HEHE :darth:

we would love to take another trip without the kids one day. However, right now, I can not imagine running into a favorite caracter of theirs and them not being there to see them. I would be guilt ridden.

I voted Yes!!! I went once with friends and it was not that fun without my kids and husband. Then I went with just my daughter and I missed my husband terribly!!!! From now on, it's all 4 of us or none of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole Disney experience for me requires kids!!!

Next trip, no kids. Adults only trip with DW and 4 friends. Can't wait for that.

6 weeks later, monster trip with the kids. Can't wait for that either.

....have always included our kids in our travels...but...

....NOT ONLY...am I traveling with one of MY kids on our next trip this fall....my wife thought it to be a good idea to include other's children!! (well...child to be exact)

We'll be going to Fla. for a cruise in the beginning of Nov., and one of our "entourage" families had to bow out of the cruise due to work related scheduling issues. So...my wife decided that she'd volunteer us to take the oldest daughter of the aforementioned family, since she's a close friend of my daughter and didn't want her to miss out on the vacation.

So...I have my wife...my 12 yr old daughter...and an "adoptive" 12 yr old daughter for this fall's vacation.

.....there's going to be entirely too much estrogen on this trip!!!:rotfl:

.....I'll be interested to see how this all pans out. :crowd:

Go to MK for the opening ceremonies.
Walk through the tunnel onto Main Street.
Look around your party, and I gurantee you are there with kids!

Ah, it's fun to be 12 again!

DW and I did our Honeymoon at WDW. That will probably be the only time with out kids. I can not imagine not having our 2 DS's with us. Plus I don't think they would ever forgive us for going with out them.
