I'd like to take my DD to a beach up to about 90 miles from where we live but I have no idea where to even start looking. We live in the Hudson Valley NY area and are looking to go somewhere that isn't as crowded as the beaches on Long Island. Does anyone have any tips or websites I can look at to see where the closest beach is to us?

Sea bright NJ

Lavalette NJ

Both beautiful shore towns-

Sandy Hook NJ is also better than it used to be, but traffic is bad on weekends-

Best NJ beach is Island beach state park ( not Long beach island)
But its exit 82 on Garden stat- maybe 90 min from NYC ( i don't know where Hudson valley is-

I am way out east on LI. Believe it our not, our beaches are not as crowded as you would think. Of course, weekends are worse but, I take the kids to the ocean everyday during the week and we have no problem parking, getting a spot on the beach near the water or people sitting on top of us. I know areas like Jones Beach can be extremely crowded but, even though I am literally in "The Hamptons" our beaches are quite enjoyable.
Shoot me a pm if you want any info about some of the beaches out here.:)
