Carousel of Progress - Any rumors for updates?

Any WDW cast members ever hear any rumors about updating Carousel of Progress? I love this ride so much but the theme IS progress and my husband and I always wonder when maybe they'll update it with a new century?

I haven't heard anything but I hope they update the futureristic scene because that scene is very old and needs to be updated to our time

I may be off base here but I think it has been a minimum of at least 15 years between updates of the future scene. I would also think that with the pace of change in technology in these days that it would be hard to keep it updated for very long.

I think it's time to stop the updates on the last section and return to the 1971 era version and then add a new section for today,thats how far we've come since 71 technology.

Without a massive cahnge to the ride, the last section would have to be short to allow for unloading.

I definitely think all the first scenes need to stay the same. There was so much MAJOR change and inventions during the first half of the 20th century. It is neat to look back on our progress. But, we could use a little change in the last scene. But, I'm happy just the way it is!:mickey:

I actually hope it never changes, I like it just the way it is. It's a classic and I hope that it stays put. Unfortunately with the rumors of closing it permanently I just hope if anything they keep it as is! :mickey:

I think Walt would want it to reflect progress, but I think the last scene should be way out there...as a "what if" scenario

maybe updating it a little will get more people on the attraction, it is always empty everytime i go
