We'll be attending the Halloween Party on Sept. 12 for the first time during our visit with my son, 3.

Any must sees you'd recommend?

Also - any ideas for a not-too-hot costume for a 3 yr old boy?

Thanks!

My tip is to take it easy that day and be sure he has an opportunity for a nap. Then get there as early as you can get in (4:00), so that you can enjoy as much as possible before he gets too tired.

Is your son a Peter Pan fan? That was my 4 yr old son's costume at last year's NSSHP. Very comfortable- not too hot- and not too many other Pans around. :mickey:

I know its not Disney, but Superman is always great...no mask or paint needed. Or a pirate is always good

I REALLY enjoyed this party last year. I never appreciated the Haunted Mansion more!:hmghost:

DH and I hadn't dressed for H'ween in years so we were going to go all out. Then changed our minds for comfort's sake and went with black Mickey T's, pumpkin Mickey ears, and Groucho Marx glasses. It was pretty funny and we got a lot of laughs! Wish I knew how to post a pic. One definitie plus: NO ONE else was dressed like us!

I would think a pirate would be a good idea. I went as one several times as a kid and we lived in SW Louisiana and it was always hot on Halloween. You could get him some cheap shorts and rip up the bottoms and then get a striped tshirt and tear it up, too. Then all you have to do is get a sword and he's set! You could even get a tanktop and be even cooler.

I'm sure there will be other pirates around, but then he can play with them and act they're all part of the same crew or something!

Hope that helps! Have a Magical time!!!

Maybe he can dress up as a pirate with cut up shorts and a shirt? An eye patch and a pirate hat and a sword thing.

Aladdin might be a good one if you're looking for something cool....

Pirates are always a fun costume to do :D Or you could get a little chef costume for Linguini from Ratatouille!

Looks like I'll be going dressed like a tourist from the midwest. I think I can make it look really authentic.

I saw a very cute and simple costume this past year- White T-shirt, White Sweat pants with black spots either painted or drawn on them with a red ribbon around the neck and a black spot around one eye-instant 101 dalmation.

Also my #1 tip for the Halloween party is SKIP the candy lines!! Way too long!! Although they do give out lots of good candy and chocolate, but the wait isn't worth it. IMO

We went last year for the first time. It was great! Definitely dress up! My DH and I are going as Capt. Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann this year. As for your son...I think Peter Pan would be a great costume. It would be very cool in comparison to most.

The MNNSHP is not to be missed! That being said, our kids all dressed up last trip, and our 4-yr old DN was a pirate, and my 13-yr old DD was a pirate wench. After the parade, we decided to use some complimentary FPs, that our other DN won earlier in the day, and go on POTC. We were directed by the CMs to area off to the side where the gates lead to the rear of the attraction and told to wait. How suprised were we when none other than Capn Hook himself arrived to escort us to the boats thru the back way. He was most impressed w/our "little pirates" and actually rode thru the attraction w/us!!! What a thrill it was for all to be on the POTC @ midnight w/the most "villanous" pirate :pirate: of them all!
