Which day would be better to visit the characters at this location, friday or saturday? Does it get more crowded on weekends?

it really depends on what time of year you are going, in sept its really not crowded much at all, according to touring plans website Saturday is typically a better day to visit the mk

We will be going in April, is it crowded that time of year in the early am?

I have found that the MK is crowded on the weekends more than any other time. Lots of locals, like myself, tend to take day trips over the weekends. Toontown does open later than the regular park so if you get there first thing it is not too bad. Remember that in April you will be fighting some of the spring break crowd as well.

I would go during the week if possible, so Friday for you.

I'd go on a weekday, and as early in the day as ToonTown open...the park is busy in April, my wife was there in April with a band trip this year and thot the MK was as busy then as it was over the Christmas holidays...not sure if thats actually the case (Hard to tell from a sample of one), but it is busy and lines there can get long.
