Room upgrade

My wife and I are visiting in January with two friends. We have a 1BR booked at OKW and would love to upgrade to a 2BR.
We would rather not use any more of our vacation points.
Are free upgrades sometimes available or can we pay the difference.
We're new DVC members and the trip will be the first time for us using points.
Any help here will be appreciated.

Upgrades are typically never provided unless DVC makes a mistake and overbooks your accomodation type. Also, you can't pay cash to upgrade.
