KEY at 3D muppet show?

I heard something about a key being under at mat at the 3D muppet show in DHS. What mat and what does the key look like? Sounds like fun and something i could have my daughter look for.:mickey:

Yep, the key is there, and our DD had a ball when she found it.

There is a mat on the right hand side once you enter the attraction...just look under it!

There is a key :mickey: As soon as you enter the queue to the right there is a sign on a window that says something like "be back in 5 minutes key is under mat." If you look under the mat you really will find a key!

My 10 year old son is sitting here with me while I am answering the question. In his words, "it is an old fashioned key." Then he described "a gold key with a circle on the end and a bumpy part to open the door.":mickey: It's just another example of how Disney always pays attention to every little detail on everything that they do.

The biggest part of the joke is that the sign (Be Back in 5 minutes, key under mat) is hanging in the window of the muppet labs security office!!!!:D

All you have to do is lift the mat up and look. You can't take the key, it is embedded in the floor. My DW rolls her eyes :rolleyes: at me whenever I look under the mat!:D

The little touches like this are my favorite part of Disney World! When they do the theming for an attraction they go all the way. I really appreciate all the attention to detail and it brings me a little smile every time I see something like this.

I remember when you walk into the attraction there is a sign that says there is a key under the mat. We just now noticed it the last time we went but we never checked under the mat! :(

A cast member saw my husband find the key last time we were there and made a big deal of it announcing that he "found the key" and gave him a "Year Of A Million Dreams" certificate for his magical moment. I assume they do that everytime if they happen to see you so make sure a CM is around!!

I went to look for the key one time and the cast member by the entrance stopped me and said "the show is in here, folks." I have seen the key since but I was always remember the cast member who would not let me look.

I agree. What a rotten thing to do.
I remember the first time I looked under the mat and the CM asked how I knew about that. Jokingly I said "it says so on the sign" but then told him I read it online otherwise I wouldn't have thought to really check.

I look at it everytime I go to the Muppets 3D attraction. I really do love that one...

Yep it's there, I think the first time we saw it was in 2001.

We found it on our 2003 trip with all the kids, I think. I had read about it so we "found" it on that trip or our 2004 trip.

I found out about it online and when we went the next time I told my wife to check under the mat. She was amazed. I am the one in the family that knows all the secrets. It's fun learning the secret facts of disney and being able to tell about them when we go. I think I missed my calling, should have been a tour guide at WDW :D.

DS not only found the key but also a certificate saying "i found the key to muppet labs" it is in our scrapbook.
