July 18, 1910 – Musician Charles LaVere, the man who wrote the Golden Horseshoe Revue, was born in Salina, Kansas.
July 18, 1913 – Marvin Miller, the narrator of Disney’s 1959 classic film “Sleeping Beauty,” was born in St. Louis, Missouri.
July 18, 1913 – Funnyman Red Skelton, who appeared in the 1976 TV special “Monsanto Night Presents Walt Disney’s America on Parade,” was born in Vincennes, Indiana.
July 18, 1932 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Mickey in Arabia” was released.
July 18, 1944 – Mouseketeer Bonnie Lynn Fields, a member of “The Mickey Mouse Club” during the 1957-1958 season, was born in Waterboro, S.C.
July 18, 1952 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Uncle Donald’s Ants” was released.
July 18, 1955 – Disneyland opened to the general public at 10:00am. Admission cost $1.00. Dave MacPherson, was the 1st guest to enter the park and would win a lifetime pass, and Michael Schwartner and Christine Vess were the 1st paying children to enter the park.
July 18, 1956 – Disney’s animated “Jack and Old Mac” was released.
July 18, 1956 – The Disney film “Davy Crockett and the River Pirates” was released.
July 18, 1962 – Actor Lee Arenberg, known for his role of Pintel in both Disney features “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest,” was born in Palo Alto, Ca.
