I was wondering what things have people "won" during the year of a million dreams. Did any of you have to play a game? Does your prize depend on how well you do?

My family and I were shown pictures pf houses/castles and asked to identify who lived in them. We got some and missed some and got a pin. I wonder if we had got them right would we have gotten something else?

Hubby and I just got off It's a Small World and there was a CM asking everybody to line up against the wall. There another CM gave us the YMD mouse ears. It's was great.

On July 9th we took advantage of the early morning magic hours at AK. We did all the major things before the park opened at 9. Around 10 a.m. we went to see It's tough to Be A Bug. There was a 10 min wait and as everyone was being let into the theater, there was the Magic Squad. They were passing out Dream Fast Passes to everyone that went in for that show time.

So we got to go back and do the Safari, Rapids, Tough to be a Bug, Dinosour, Primevil, EE, again.

I won a pin and a lanyard getting off of Space Mountain, a pin/lanyard getting on the boat at the World Showcase, and one of those dream fastpasses on Star Tours.
The fastpass had a tab for almost every ride in DHS and it allowed us to go on pretty much every ride in the park whenever we wanted that day with no line. :cloud9:
The dream squad just came in before the ride started and told us we were all in the right place at the right time and they gave everyone in the car the fastpass! :D

I just remembered another one. My husband was looking under the mat for the key at the 3D muppet show and when the CM saw him she called everyones attention and made a big deal and gave him a certificate with his name for having a magical moment and finding the hidden key. It was really cute because DH was a little embarrassed that she made a big deal but at the same time proud of his certificate!

We were there in Oct last year and we were seeing the princesses in ToonTown and as we were leaving there were a group of castmembers standing there. I didn't even think about it being YOMD, I thought maybe they were going to tell us about the photopass. They asked us how many people were in our party and started putting these blue wristbands on us. They then told us to come to Tommorrowland at closing and we would have one hour of the park to ourselves. I think one CM told my dad they gave out 3000 wristbands. It was awesome to walk around the park and hardly anyone be around. When it was time to go we had just got off of BTMRR and me and my two girls were the only people in Frontierland. It was really cool.:mickey:

We have been 3 times during this time period, for 8 days each time and we finally won something on our last trip. We where entering the line for the tea cups and we got to hop the line and everyone in line sang Happy Unbirthday to us. We also got a photo of Alice and the Mad Hatter that we had to stand in line for 30 min to get signed but it was worth it. I was starting to think the whole thing was a joke. Hopefully we have better luck in December.

I was at Disney for three days in march of this year and won something on two days. Both made my day.

The first day early in the morning, coming of splash mountain we got magic fastpasses to almost all the rides @ MK that day.

The second coming out of the seas we got a pass for an extra hour of EPCOT in the evening and some music. Took advantage of this and had consecutive rides on both Test Track & Soarin' because there weren't many folks due to a cold wind day.

We went last September and got nothing, and actually only saw the prize patrol once in eight days. But last week we were coming off of a cruise (non-Disney) and decided to stop in Downtown Disney before our flight home. We ran into a patrol giving out Mickey Ears by the West Side fountain. All we had to do to get them was cross a particular line in the pavement...

We decided that Disney was trying to lure us back to them next year with free gifts. :mickey:

Headed back in Sept. for the third time during the 27 Months of "Year of a Million Dreams" -- first two times - nothing. Maybe the third time is the charm?

We have been sending in the postcards, however, and have received 3 pairs of 2008 YOMD Dream Ears in the mail.

ISLE39 Have a great first trip to WDW. How exciting! Maybe the Dream Patrol will find you.

We were in the World for 12 days in September and did not even see anyone receive a prize. We are heading down again in November so maybe then but I'm not going to get too excited winning things just doesn't seem to be something that happens to us.

Does anyone know of anyone that won anything big? I know there is an Intercot family that won a night in the castle some time ago. Just wondering.

:mickey:June 07...My DD - 13 was intrigued by the whole Dream Squad thing. She was totally aware at how all of the dreams were completely random (so she wasn't expecting anything). She just wanted a picture (thinking it was only a one year celebration) with a Dream member. So...she approached one in Tomorrowland and asked to have a picture taken with him. He agreed and talked to her for a few minutes. He then seemed to be listening to his phone and asked her if she knew that he granted wishes sometimes. Anyway...we as a family were told to meet him by the elevator to the Astro Orbitor 30 min before Wishes. We did and we had the chance to sit and talk to him and another Dream Squad member. We were then escoted to the top of the Astro to watch Wishes. No one else was up there...we felt SO special!!! (I still rather watch from Main Street but the experience was very special.) They gave us a certificate to commemorate the dream.:mickey:

We've been there at least ten times since the Million Dreams started...and I've never even SEEN a dream team member...I know they were inside once at the RR at DHS 'cause people came out with Dream Fast Passes...and I rode the bus with the family that won the Castle night stay (and had no idea what that was about or what was in store for them)...I've got two more trips this year...hopefully we see a dream team and at least get a pin...smile...

We stayed on site in October '06 at POR for one night and received a welcome banner in our room.

We also stayed at POR the following July '07 and received a Disney fruit basket at check in.

However, we have never received or seen the Dream Squad while in Disney. I have seen lots of people with dream fp and also ears, but have never seen anyone actually receive anything.

I am hoping to see the squad on our trip this August, however our trip will be magical whether we win anything or not. Just can't wait to be there!

We got the lanyards with the pins in DL in March while walking through DTD; two people were just handing them out to anyone passing by which was cool since that was the first prize I'd gotten from the Dream Squad. My parents got the special Mickey ears and the Dream Fast Pass for MK last Spring. I'm hoping for something in September when we make our last visit to PI.:mad:

When we were there in May, I don't remember seeing the Dream Team handing out anything, but when we were walking up to Test Track, a CM came up and asked me how many was in my party. I told him 4 and he wanted to know if we wanted to get in the "back way"? I said sure, and he told us to follow another CM who was leading another group of 4 around the back way. I finally realized that we were going in the exit. We walked up some stairs and were immediately put on the ride. When the ride ended the first CM was there and asked if we wanted to ride again. We got a certificate for being a Test Track Family.

Also the day we checked into POP we were "Pop Century's Housekeeping Family of the Day" and we got a certificate for that too.

In January 2008 we got off of the ME bus at BC and a CM said to my wife---you must be Laura and this little fella must be Reagan. She was astonished. Then the lady looked at my teenage daughter and said--this must be Lindsay and then looked at our 3 year old said hi to Destiny and then asked where I was at. I had headed to the check-in desk. They quickly came and 'pulled' me out of line and told me I didn't need to go there. (They had to track us from the airport as to which bus we were on)
They told us to sit down and to not look behind us. A few minutes passed and 4-5 CMs brought us a balloon bouquet with large candy bars tied on the ribbon. They handed us a certificate. I'm thinking that this is nice, but did you have to pull me out of the check-in line, haha. They asked if we knew why they took me out of line. I quipped--we get 5 nights in the castle--and they got quiet. Our reservation was for 5 nights at a standard room AP discount. The prize was 5 nights in concierge with a room facing the EPCOT fireworks and free food and drink from 7a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the stay. It was awesome!!!!!!!!
The next day we walked into the Animation tour at DHS and won Fast Pass lanyards. We were truly blessed.
Our local newspaper and the paper in our capitol city did a story on us. Now the story shows up all over the web on Disney sites, travel sites, etc.

Wow! Last summer when we were there, from the very first day DD (age 7) kept asking for an Itsakadoozi popsicle and I kept telling her to wait until it was a good time. They are huge and it was so hot, I knew it would just melt all over the place. So, I just kept making her drink water to keep cool. Well, we had just gotten off the new Nemo ride in Epcot and she immediately saw one of those little ice cream stands. We went up to it and the CM started talking about how every day he grants wishes and this big long speech about granting wishes and so now my whole family was staring at him wondering what our wish was going to be, trying to understand exactily what he was saying and getting more excited by the second, and you guessed it- it was an Itsakadoozi. DD7 couldn't believe it. Her wish was granted!

My DS was pin trading with a bus driver (it was while the bus was loading.) While on the bus drive to where were we going the driver got on the microphone and said to everyone on the bus that he wanted to speak to the child who he was pin trading with when we were stopped and unloading. My son got quite nervous not knowing what it was about. He went up and talked to him and he got the bus trading card a certificate stating he was honorary bus driver for the day and got to pick out of a prize bag. It was a big thrill for him since the day before my younger son got something for playing with a CM in one of the stores and my other son was upset he did not get one. It all worked out.

I love reading about all these dream prizes. We didn’t see the Dream Squad one time while there in April and in fact only saw one family who had dream FP lanyards (no other prizes in sight) but it was still a great trip and we did have several little magical moments. Most memorable was DS 9 getting to pilot our boat on Jungle Cruise after our rather animated tour guide lost her name badge while “hitting the deck” - this was extremely memorable to hubby and myself b/c during our first visit in 2004 same DS (then 6) took our guide literally when he screamed at us to “hit the deck – get down people get down” – talk about timing. We leave in less than 3 weeks for a second trip this year – dream come true already thanks to my mil wanting to take a family vacation and paying for our room and tickets.

Here's one, that I have not read yet.

My Fiance (Michelle) and I went for a week last May, and spent our final full day at the Magic Kingdom. We just hopped off the train at the Toontown station and took the back way into Tomorrowland to see the line for Space Mountain. As we walked up to the line we noticed a 90 minute wait and were contemplating if we wanted to ride. As we were discussing our plans, a Cast Member came up and asked us if we wanted to ride SM and of course we said yes. So he asked us to follow him and we went to the Fast pass line. I told Michelle that we would just be getting the Fast Pass reward, but we kept going and he opened a chain for us to pass through. He took us up to the Control Tower and showed us how the ride worked and the cameras located throughout the ride. We received a certificate and we took a picture with him. He then took us over to the front of the ride and met us at the end where you get off. He escorted us out and asked a few questions. When we told him how grateful we were because it was our last day, he proceeded to go into his pocket and gave us each 3 Fast Passes good for any ride in the park. This event made our trip. It was our last day and all we kept talking about was that we had to leave the following day and the CM made us forget about all of that!! We now have 18 more days and we'll be back for our Honeymoon!!!

This has been awesome. I am living vicariously through the winners!! We were there at Christmas and in January on a business trip and I never saw any CM's handing out anything. I saw confetti in several places and figured something great had happened.:pixie:

When we went to FW for lunch, we went into the Trading Post. I began speaking to the CM behind the counter and found out he was in basic training in Texas. He spoke of a few places and my DH knew where he was talking about. Before we left, he handed me a card with 2 Tinkerbell pins on them...one to keep and one to give away.

I don't know if that was a YOMD pin, but I felt special that I received SOMETHING.

We were going to eat at Pinocchio Village Haus and DS did not want to eat. He wanted to ride Peter Pan. Of couse the line was long and we had about 90 minutes before our Fast passes were due. DS was crying when a dream team member ask him what was wrong? DS said he did not want to eat, he just wanted to ride Peter Pan. She then told him if he ate a good lunch she would have a surprise for him. After we finished eating we found her out side Pinocchio's, she sat on the ground and asked DS some questions about Peter Pan. Then she gave him a certficate and said come with me. She walked us to the front of the line and put us right on the ride with no wait at all. DS was beside himself. That was our win.

When we finally caught up to them, they were standing there with the DreamCasters, holding Dream FPs. They told us that they had been given the last 2 but begged the team for 4 more or they would 2 very angry wives on their hands! :thedolls:

We were there in June for 10 days and not one prize did we win. We saw lots of Dream FP's though. Hopefully when we go back in Aug we'll win something. The kids & I are going back for our birthdays, they're all within 2 weeks of each other. That would be the icing on our birthday cakes to win something.

nothing really but we had a great experience with the princesses at the judges tent. we were asked to wait to the side until every one else when through the line and and we got to stay back and take a group photo and visit alone with the princesses

This sounds like a great prize! It's very rare to get a chance for photo's w/ the princesses together! :mickey: Congrats on your win!

We were there in Oct. 06 not sure if thats when YOMD started or not but we were in front of Test Track trying to decide if we wanted to wait or not and a CM came up to us and asked how many were in our party. She then told us we were the official Test Track Family and escorted us through the vip area and on to the unloading dock. We got to get straight on and then ride 2 times in a row. It was awesome. We had my oldest sons best friend with us, it was his first trip, and he was so surprised.

My sweetie and my oldest son won YOMD ears getting off Test Track. It really was wasted on them since they were both too embarrassed to wear them. Instead I did which also embarrassed them. It's fun, but I have to agree with the poster who said just being in WDW is a dream come true for us! (though the fast passes sound pretty good!)

We were in the TOT Library, and got given Dream Fast Passes, we didn't use them though as it was quiet at MGM, but they made great keepsakes!

We have won the Dream FastPass lanyards a couple of times. Once on Star Tours, we had just taken our seats, and they were closing the doors, and a Dream Team member hopped through and gave everyone the lanyards, and then hopped off so it could start. Then once we were getting off Peter Pan and they were handing them out as you left the ride. Another time half of the family was on a ride and the other half was waiting with the little kids, and those who had been on the ride got off with the Dream FastPass lanyards. We're also big pin traders, and have been given the sparkly Tinkerbell pins by some CMs.

The last time that we won the FastPass lanyards, we were actually getting ready to leave the park after lunch, and so we found a family coming in that had the same number of people as ours, and when our friend who was there with us went to talk to the family, they blew past him and he had to chase them down. The grandmother that was with them was even overheard saying, "Don't stop! Don't talk to him!" They thought that he was crazy, and they didn't want to talk to him until he yelled after them that he was trying to give them fastpasses. They were pretty embarrased. We thought it was hilarious.

We're going back in 45 days, and we may not win anything. If we don't, then we're still fine, because:

1. We've already won our fair share, if not more.

2. We're at DisneyWorld! What more could we possibly want!!!

I had to answer a trivia question which I answered correctly and then received a free locker rental which I needed anyway. Lucky me.

DH let me pick a fav ride for our last day and I choose Peter Pan. As we got off a member of the Dream Team said,"You've won a prize in our Year of a Million Dreams, go ahead to collect your prize!" and we got Dream Ears! That made our trip so memorable and was a great way end.

In April '07 we(me, DH, DS 8 & DS 6) were waiting in line for Epcot, when this happy young woman came bouncing up to us. She asked if we wanted to open the park! I said sure, DH groaned(does NOT like to be the center of attention), and DSs were clueless. We walked to the front, where she gave both of our sons certificates for "Pirate of the Day". They also took our picture in front on the huge topiary of Captain Hook's pirate ship. They announced the kids' names and had them lead the countdown. So exciting!! But wait, there's more! We took our certificates and started walking towards Soarin. We had no idea where it was, or why they had ropes up!?! I took a guess on which line to stand, and told my husband to ask a CM if we were in the right place. He did, and then I saw the CM motion for the kids and I to come over to him. We walked behind the ropes and were told we were chosen as "Family of the Day"!!!!! We were given buttons, FPs for all of us for 2 rides, the first ride on TT, and a picture with all of the characters opening the park that day!!! As, he was telling us, he noticed we had "Pirate" certificates and said that has never happened(1 family chosen for both openings)!!! They announced our name and the characters came up and gave us high fives and took a beautiful picture in front of a fountain. I wish I knew how to post a picture here. After we took the picture, we jumped into a TT car, which they used to drive us over to TT. We waved at the crowd, but they were not happy(they had just seen us open the gates), but we just waved like crazy people..lol! A CM drove us over to TT, where a CM took us right to the ride. Before we got on, we took a picture with the test dummies. It was so great. The fact that it was Sunday, which was the first day of our trip, made it even better! :cloud9:They told us what made us stand out, but that's my little secret :secret:!

My girlfriend and I were going to ride Aerosmith real early in the AM, because we had to meet up with the family later and when we entered the park we were aproached by a CM and she asked us if we had food plans and we thought she was gonna try to sell us something so at first we blew here off and then she said she had a fast pass for us for one any ride we wanted to go on. We felt stupid at first because she comfronted us while inline and said you two were gonna walk right past me wernt you? Hahaha

I know this was only suppose to be a one year deal and has now turned into two, so maybe they have something else in store for us next year??

First of all, we were at WDW for 10 days and we did not see the Dream Team until the very last day when we were at Disney Hollywood Studios.

Now, let me say ...we were VERY fortunate on this trip. When we were at Epcot on Friday, September 26th, four EXTREMELY nice ladies walked up to me and my 2 DS in front of Journey Into Imagination. One young lady tapped me on the shoulder. She said "We want to give these to you and your family." They were 4 Dream Fastpasses! Oh my goodness...I felt like we had one the lottery. My boys were SO excited. I couldn't thank them enough. I gave one of them a small hug. I hope they are members of Intercot. If so, again we thank you very much for such a kind gesture.

My family and I were shown pictures pf houses/castles and asked to identify who lived in them. We got some and missed some and got a pin.DD played that game in Epcot when she was just turning 5 and the CM was so impressed because she got all of them right! She won a pin too, though, so you probably got the best prize there is for that game.

We won Dream Fastpasses not long ago getting off Winnie the Pooh. We didn't use any of them, though ... just kept them intact as souvenirs.

Now if you want to read about the bigger prize we won, you can click here (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=107943). :D

We went to Buzz Lightyear early one morning and won Dream Fastpasses - all 11 of us. The lady behind us won one too and was overjoyed - she screamed.

A few days later we were running to catch FOTLK in AK and a group of about 3 cast members, one with a laptop, tried to stop us. "Can we ask you some questions?" We assumed they were some sort of survey team, so we politely went on, but immediately wondered if it was a "Dream Team". I didn't see anyone in the uniform. I still wonder.

Here is something different:

My beloved Chihuahua, is a two-time winner of YOMD prizes!

He was staying in the kennel at DHS (MGM at the time) and had his picture taken with Mickey! So cool. The CM handed me the photo when I went to pick my dog up.

Then at the AK kennel on a differrent trip he was pet of the day! He received a YOMD certificate and a goodie bag of toys (his favorite is a giraffe) and snacks.

We've been a couple of times for the YOAMD celebration, but I will say that the second trip we had run ins with DS members every day it seemed!!!

One day we had gone to MGM just to see the Osborne Lights -- it was cold and windy, so we decided to do a few things and go back to the resort for the day -- we walked into One Man's Dream and when we went to go in a CM put a wristband on us -- I said "since when do you need this for this attraction?" She told me to go inside there was a CM who would explain the whole thing! I had no idea......the DS CM asked us all if we were having a magical day and we were not the only ones who were cold and tired.......he brightened us right up though when he said we won extra hours in the park that night after it had closed!!! We immediately left and came back when the park closed....we were treated to a "concert" from Mulch, Sweat & Tears....awesome!! Then, we had the whole park to ourselves!! DS and I were THE ONLY ones back at the Osborne Lights!! I was just like a six year old Christmas morning I was so elated -- DS just was atonished that we had the park to "ourselves".....with about 1998 other people...it was AWESOME!!!

We saw them also at AK where DS traded pins several times with them and he had magical moments with them.

At Epcot he again traded pins with SEVERAL DS members who told him one time they had to go....Mickey was going to give away a nice big prize to a lucky family!! DS asked "Am I the lucky family?"....well, we weren't but that moment was magical anyway!!

At MK we were walking thru Fantasyland when a DS member asked DS if he wanted to see how IASW worked and if he wanted to work the controls......he was on a mission at that moment and said "No thank you"......I told him that if he didn't do this right now that he would not get to see it -- it was a super special moment -- then he said "Well, ok if it only takes a minute"!!!! After "starting" the ride we were escorted down to the platform and got our very own boat to ride thru on. DS insisted the DS CM came with us!! She did and it was great!

The final day of our trip we were again at MK (as we always finish up there).....We had time for one more ride I told DS and he wanted to do PP.....well, the line was over an hour long, so I could not accommodate that one as we needed to be out of the park in less than an hour....so we were walking thru and he was just devastated.....he was whiney, wimpering and then he spotted a group of DS members....he wanted to trade pins (yeah, he's a pin maniac).....he did his trade and said "Thank you, we have to go get on our plane and go home now, see you next time"......The CM said "Do you have time for ONE MORE RIDE???" Well, DS said, "we were going to go on PP, but my mom said the line is too long".....We were escorted to the front of the line and got to ride!! Once again, DS insisted the CM come with us, and he did.....when we got off, DS asked him a few questions and finally asked to see insde his "magic bag".....the CM said, well, only a peek".....Again, flippantly DS then said "Thank you.....we're going to get ice cream now then going home".......well, the guy followed us to an ice cream cart and told the other CM it was a magical moment......WOW -- WHAT A LAST HOUR AT MK WE HAD!!!!! I don't know if it could get any better!!! I made sure to get the DS members name and wrote a GLOWING letter on his behalf!! His actions that day were WELL above and beyond what they are asked to do!!! DS will never forget it and neither will I!! Thanks again to Mike from the DS!!!

Now,I know some families don't even get to see the Squad when they are there, so I consider my family one of the luckiest in the world!!! For us, Disney has and will always be a super special place -- for several years to come I know DS will always remember the day we had at MK (maybe his entire life) and that is just priceless if you ask me!!

We have spent 6 weeks in the world since the YOAMD started and nothing for us :( although we have seen hundreds of people win. We were even there on the first day of the program when a lucky family started the YOAD off by winning Fantasyland to their selves and 100 characters for one morning. That would be awesome!
Oh well the odds were against us we still loved every second

We took a ride on the friendship boat in EPCOT during March 2008 and recieved a pass to stay in the park for 1 hour after closing. They had a kind of dance party by Test Track until the park cleared and then let us go do what we wanted for 1 hour. They gave out a total 1800 passes, but since it was cold that night I think only about 300 showed. We rode Soarin' twice and Mission Space. It was very special.

We were walking through the Maharajah Jungle Trek in Animal Kingdom and were given lanyards. We were walking into Magic Kingdom and were selected for a private meet and greet with Cinderella. My son usually wants nothing to do with princesses but he sure blushed when Cinderella kissed his cheek. My mother and son were chosen to watch the fireworks from the Astro Orbiter. We were all chosen to watch Illuminations in a private area. We also were chosen to go to the front of the line at Maelstrom. All of these happened on multiple trips.

I don't know if this an official prize, but it sure made us feel special. Two years ago this week we were at Disney an we were leaving the MNSSHP at midnight. On our way out this CM asked if he could take our picture and we said yes. Then we started talking to him on our way to the POP bus line (which was very long). We just kept talking to him all the way to the bus stop. When we got to the bus stop he told us to wait there for a minute, while he went over to talk to a bus driver that was sitting on an empty bus. He then called out to us (family of 8) to come over to the bus. Then he proceeded to tell us that we had this whole bus to ourselves and it was going to take us back to POP, and then he gave us his card. Okay so it wasn't a night in Cinderella's castle of a free cruise, but to us a family of eight extremely tired and ready to call it a night, it was our private limo ride back to POP. My daughters still talk about that every time we are standing in a bus line or on a very crowded bus after park closing. The CM gave us his card and he was director of Disney transportation and I emailed him when I got home and told him thanks and how much that one bus ride meant to us. Disney Magic!!!!

It's best to arrive at any park at opening. They normally give away drams until 1pm (I believe). DH and I won three dreams (2 Ultimate FPs and 1 landyard w/ pins). The first one was at MGM around 9am in the pre-show at ToT. The other two were at AK (one was during the gorilla area, and the other one was at Jungle Trek (I want to say.) And that was around 9-10am.

My wife ended up winning the Dream Fast Passes last year. She took a smoking break and while she was there the cast member showed up in that area and was passing them out. My wife jumped up and grabbed one and then came to get me. By the time I got there they were all gone. We went to guest services and after a few questions they were kind enough to get a second one for me also.

The funny thing was as we were on one of the rides a lady looked at our passes and asked where we got it. When we told her the story her face got all scrunched up and she said "you got it in the smoking section". From that moment on we both joked about whether or not my wife was able to do anything within the park because she was a smoker. We asked all the cast members (in a jokingly way) whether my wife could go on the attractions because she was a smoker.
