July 16, 1927 – The 56th (and final) Disney Alice Comedy film, “Alice in the Big League” was previewed in a Los Angeles, Ca. theater.
July 16, 1954 - Construction began on the transformation of more than 18 acres of orange groves in South Anaheim to build Disneyland.
July 16, 1954 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Dragon Around” was released.
July 16, 1954 – The Disney cartoon “Casey at the Bat” was released.
July 16, 1955 – Disneyland’s Horseshoe Revue, created by Wally Boag, the original Pecos Bill, premiered the night before the parks official opening.
July 16, 1991 – The “Disney Villians” shop opened in Fantasyland at Disneyland. (Closed May 30, 1996)
July 16, 1993 – The Disney film “Hocus Pocus” was released.
July 16, 1997 – The Disney film “George of the Jungle” was released.
July 16, 2000 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “The Poof Point.”
July 16, 2002 – As of this day, Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” movie has taken in $119.5 million in the U.S.
