I received an email last week from Disney Visa. They are having a special where if you charge on gas, groceries and a couple other things, anything over the initial $500 for the month will be accrued x5!!

I charge all of our gas but will now charge my groceries too.

There are restrictions and you have to register to get this offer.

Anyone else get this offer?

Yes! I got this, too, and signed up right away! With the price of gas and groceries these days, it shouldn't take too long to start earning those 5x points!

Darn! I just got approved last week and haven't gotten my card yet. I would have loved to have taken advantage of this offer. :-(

Do they do things like this often?? I am trying to get enough points annually to cover our passes!:mickey:

I signed up as well.

I also called customer service and asked if my recent air travel would apply, but found that since I charged it prior to July 1st that it would not work.

I was also told that any charges that I have prior to my trip for the 5x will not apply before my trip to DW the end of August. We will probably see the extras in November.

So anyone who has applied may have them for a trip in December but surely in 2009.

Happy charging.:mickey:

Bummer! I didn't get that offer. I didn't get the airfare offer either and I used it to charge airfare during that promotion's timeframe. I just got the card in June so I am hoping to get some of these offers soon!

I received the same offer, it is says anything over $500 a month in any of these categories..
I take this to mean that you must spend over $500 in an individual category, such as groceries, gas, etc., not the combined total of all categories. You also only get the 5X bonus for the amount that you spend over the first $500. They also determine the category by the store where it was purchased, for example if you bought groceries at a Kroger store it would count but if you bought groceries at a Target store, they wouldn't.
This isn't the first time they have made such offers and if you spend $500 a month for gasoline or groceries you will see some benefit......

I thought that it said $250 per categorie.

But I have been known to be wrong, but dont let it out.

Actually, the mailing that I got said $750.
I think they offer different levels to different customers based on their average monthly usage....

Wow!

That means that I must be special, or I just spend to darn much on my credit card.

Either way if all of the gas stations on the way to DW have not quite allowing the use of credit cards to purchase gas I guess I know what I will use to pay for fuel.

That will easily eat up $250.:D

With prices today, I don't think $500 in fuel or groceries would be a stretch by any definition. DH and I have spent $836 in gasoline in the last 30 days!!!! :jaw: And we have pretty fuel efficient vehicles (Corolla and Civic)! :(

So that would have been $40 in disney rewards right?

Ummm.....no, that would be $17 in rewards

$836 - $500 = $336 * .05 = $16.8

Plus the $5 in rewards for the first $500.....

I would call customer service and ask them why you did not get the mailing.
Maybe they will let you sign up.

Nothing ventured nothing gained.:mickey:

I got mine...mine was the $750...would that mean I spend more?? I do admit that I put the majority of my monthly expenses, gas, etc on my card to get my points.

I got this in the mail too. It won't benefit me though; I don't spend $500/month on groceries and and I don't buy any gas. I just bought plane tickets and have no plans for more. Oh well, I'll have more money in the end anyways.

My offer was on purchases over $1000. My husband (we have separate cards) got the offer on purchases over $750. We had both received the offer by email a few days ago, and today we also got the offer in the mail, so it's possible some people haven't received theirs yet.

I got my notification and mine is on purchases over $900. I think Disney Visa structures there promotions on what the members average spending in a month since there is always a wide range on the spending amount among members.

Gotcha-

Thanks for the clarification. I'm a newbie if you can't tell. :-)
