July 15, 1912 – Imagineer Al Bertino, who helped design Disneyland attractions “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride”, “Haunted Mansion”, and “Country Bear Jamboree” was born.
July 15, 1941 – U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt sent federal labor conciliator Stanley White to Hollywood, Ca. White was sent to make an attempt to settle the Disney workers’ strike.
July 15, 1944 – Actor Jan-Michael Vincent, the star of Disney’s 1973 live-action feature “The World’s Greatest Athlete,” was born in Denver, Co.
July 15, 1946 – Grammy Award winning singer Linda Ronstadt, who recorded the version of Disney’s “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes”, and appeared in the 1987 TV special “Golden Anniversary of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, was born in Tucson, Arizona.
July 15, 1955 – The Disney film “The Flying Gauchito” (a segment of The Three Caballeros) was released.
July 15, 1955 – The “Autopia” attraction opened in Tomorrowland at Disneyland.
July 15, 1975 – Construction began on Disneyland’s Space Mountain.
July 15, 1988 – Disney re-released “Bambi” in theaters for the 7th and final time.
July 15, 1990 – Disney’s syndicated TV special “Thrills, Chills & Spiders: The Making of Arachnophobia” aired.
July 15, 1994 – The Disney movie, “Angels in the Outfield,” starring Danny Glover, Tony Danza, Brenda Fricker, Ben Johnson, Jay O. Sanders, Christopher Lloyd, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, was released.
