transferring points between different members

My mom is in the process of buying a DVC resale and I'm hoping to buy one myself soon. Since we will be taking most of our trips together, would it be easier to make our reservations if we transferred all of our points to one of our accounts or does that make this more difficult? When we took the DVC tour last Oct., our guide made it sound like combining our points together would make things smoother but I'm not sure I understand why.

It's probably easier to make the reservations from a combined account - you'll be able to make them at the exact same time which should guarantee they are at the same resort. And if there's a wait list issue it would apply to both reservations.
