POFQ pool - slide questions

Hi All,

Does anyone know the depth of the pool at the bottom of the POFQ serpent slide?

Also, do they allow you to slide down it with a swim ring or other floatation?

I remember from experience that you can't put your child on your lap.

You are right, only one person on the slide at a time. What we did was to have one parent at the top of the slide helping out and the other in the pool ready to catch!

We did something similar. Usually, either DH or I would go up in front of DC and go down first, so we'd be there to help them up (if they needed help). I got some great videos of this. :mickey: And the life vests were great!

This brings up a fond memory. On our second trip to Disney we stayed at POFQ, DS then 4 1/2 wanted to do the serpent slide. DW took him in line, I waited at the bottom off to the side. You can clearly see who is next coming down.

As anticipated he chickened out. Mom, using her always good judgement pushed him and said good by Dom. Screaming all the way down the slide he landed in my arms at the bottom.

Mom came down to see if she had scarred her youngin for life. Well, all he wanted to do was to do itagain and again with mom. Twenty nine times later we told him we had to leave. But only dad was allowed at the bottom of the pool to catch him, he did not quite trust mom. But that passed too.

A couple of years later, while staying at the Poly, he did not like the pool slide there. It was short and steep. We had to pool hop over at POFQ so he could use his serpent slide.

I am not sure about floatation devices. In the pics from our album, DS has those floaties on his upper arms. I'm not sure about those full body floats. But I think they were allowed.

The rules are different on the resort hotel's larger slides. As I recall they are not allowed there.

The pool depth there at the bottom of the slide was 4 feet I believe. It came up to my chest.
