July 1, 1911 – Entertainer Charles David Thomas, who was one of the original singing Dapper Dans, known as “Bub,” was born in Lewistown, Montana.
July 1, 1924 – Disney’s Alice Comedy “Alice and the Dog Catcher” was released.
July 1, 1932 – Walt Disney signed a merchandising arrangement with Herman Kay Kamen. This makes Kamen the sole representative for Walt’s company.
July 1, 1932 – The Official Bulletin of the Mickey Mouse Club (Volume II Number 12) was published.
July 1, 1933 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Mickey’s Gala Premiere” was released.
July 1, 1935 – As of this date, any employee who has been with the Disney Studio a full year was granted a two-week vacation.
July 1, 1946 – Original Mouseketeer Karen Pendleton was born in Glendale, Ca.
July 1, 1951 – Singer/actor Terrance Mann was born in Kentucky. In 1994 he would play the role of the Beast in Disney’s Broadway musical hit “Beauty and the Beast.”
July 1, 1957 – Disneyland’s “Casa De Fritos,” a Mexican eatery in operation since August 1955, opened at a new location and would later be renamed Casa Mexicana.
July 1, 1959 – Disney’s Donald Duck film “How to Have an Accident at Work” was released.
